On some caches it takes a long time before images are downloaded or sometimes they are not downloaded at all. When doing big offlinzier files, this could be annoying, since Locus does not seem to time-out.
Could an option be added to have Locus time-out on the current cache and continue with the next?
hi dibrial, as I'm checking code, there is! already a timeout - 15s. because some image may be larger, I think 15s is enough. Fact that offlinizer is slow is mainly because:
1. access for images over API is slow
2. between each cache is placed 3s spaces where locus waits, because of reducing traffic on gc.com server
so in the end, if you want to offlinize huge number of caches, it really should take a few hours ...
Would it be possible to manually override the time-out setting? Maybe per config file?
Would not using the API improve speed?
- and which value you want to use instead of 15s?
- and if you disable using API then yes, it will improve speed. Anyway by this method Locus will download only a images that are mentioned in short or long listing
