Post by: gynta on January 10, 2012, 23:56:24
Hi Menion
This is a note from other thread.
After a test, I've isolate the Problem here...

<trkseg>
<trkpt>
<time></time>
<course></course>
<speed></speed>

</trkpt>
</trkseg>

If the problem is already known?

btw.
gpx-files from some other sources work well in MapSource.

ok, and what are problems with these tags? They're not valid or they do not contain expected values?

Edit: attachments & the test procedure:
 - creating a simple path in google_earth. -> export as kml
 - import kml in locus -> export as gpx
 - import kml in or*x -> export as gpx
 - open the or*x.gpx in mapsource works
 - open the locus.gpx in mapsource failed

thanks gynta,
  I have installed mapSource on computer and seems like really stupid program. Why it just do not ignore tags which do not know? Problem is TAG "speed" even it's normal optional tag ... I'll have to do some ability to export "MapSource ready" gpx file ...

EDIT: damn, this program also cannot handle <course> and <ele> tags ... what the ... nevermind, in export can now be selected "Compatible with MapSource"

sorry, but i must reactivate this thread again :mrgreen:

I see now you create an extra option "compatiple with mapsource"
and delete the tags <course>and<speed>, right?

Please make a view to:
http://www.gpsbabel.org/download.html#downloading (http://www.gpsbabel.org/download.html#downloading)
This Translator keeps all your tags and the gpx works on MapSource!
The translated gpxfile looks not realy much different as yours.

If you find out WHY - you can kick this option "compatiple with mapsource"
