Title: Geocache addon how to upload notes?
Post by: jimmmy_bee on October 20, 2011, 15:22:37
Hi I am a locus pro user and have downloaded the Geocache addon pack, I trialled it yesterday and found 3 tricky caches without too much trouble. I wrote up the log notes and saved them there and then but when I looked later the notes had not uploaded to geocache.com. Have I missed something, do I have to tell the app to upload the log notes or should it do it automatically?

It's a great app and as soon as I can sort this I shall be removing c:geo from the phone.

yes, uploading is stuck on some Groundspeak testing. You have to take gcFieldNotes.txt file (in root of Locus directory on card) and upload it manually

I made a bookmark in Opera to http://www.geocaching.com/my/uploadfieldnotes.aspx (http://www.geocaching.com/my/uploadfieldnotes.aspx) and upload it from there.  Works quite fine!  Some other browsers seem to have issues uploading in form data, but Opera does it with no problem.  I then later go the the PC and go through the logs to post, as I generally type up something with each cache.  I like to give some feedback and comment on caches, very few "TFTC" logs from me.  :)

Sorted, thanks.

I sent the file to my pc using an android app called evernote, great for transferring photos too, and then uploaded to geocaching.com from the pc.

hope the testing goes well as direct upload would be fantastic.

Regarding Locus, what a great app certainly in my top 5.
