visible track > sync > track updated and no longer visible ... good observation, this probably happens. Little more complex to solve, but added to my to-do list, thanks!

The problem with the not visible track during recording should be fixed in the next version. App now uses more aggressive optimization for drawing content on the screen and the track was incorrectly detected as "not visible".

- selection improved: the app will first try to find the nearest active point (green dot). If none is found, the nearest middle point (red dot) will be used. In the current version, sorting by distance from click was not correct.
- invisible handling points > hmm another side-effect of new optimization. Thanks, fixed!

Was away on holiday, some more observations:
First of all, selection of points in Track Editor>Insert/Edit is now much better! Also didn't experience the problem with missing handling points anymore. Thx!
But another problem (sorry if it was already reported, didn't read through all posts while I was away): Deleting single points or track sections ("inner parts") always after a few deletes (1 to 5 usually) leads to a situation where the track itself is not displayed anymore. When that happens, editor is unusable, have to leave editor and select Modify Track again.
Could make a video, again - but it really happens all the time. Cleaning up a track like this is too annoying. Happens with latest beta (11, I think).

I still sometimes experienced cases where a track wasn't visible suddenly and I had to zoom in/out. But that was on the road, so don't remember the exact situation. Will report in detail if it happens again. But at least you should know it's still not working perfectly, so perhaps you can have a look into it anyway...

And a tiny request: Could you make the track comment in the Track Info screen copyable? I often want to copy a comment to another track and have to go into edit track info to select the comment.
Same for the track title itself. Shouldn't be a biggy to make those texts selectable, is it?

Creating/updating the track overview icon still triggers a sync of that track.
I reported this before, and Menion said he'd fixed it, but it still happened (at least before the current sync-unavailability).
As the track icon is not synced, this leads to
Dev1: Update track icon > Sync on Dev2 > No track icon on Dev2 > Dev2: Manual recreate > Sync on Dev1 > No track icon on Dev1 > etc. => Can never have track icons at the same time on several devices.

1) Track editing - Yes, you should be able to load your saved track from MyLibrary into web planner in order to modify current one or save it as new track. This will be implemented in V2. Advanced track editor is not planned (e.g. removing particular points, adding breaks, ...).

2) We are planning quite flexible system of displaying geo information on the map. But this is in "idea" stage. I understand your concern but I do not want to promise we will improve this by some "temporary solution"

Ok, but still, the same way that the current planned track is saved when you switch to "My Library", the current selection in "My Library" should be restored when switching back from "Plan". That's not just "temporary", but UI standard...

3) Zoom - we end in zoom level 19 (the same as OSM). Out ouf curiosity - why do you need higher zoom?

Wouldn't say "need". I just had a track with some fine detail and couldn't zoom in on it to really see all details. I would say, in terms of maps, Google Maps should always be the reference, and there I can zoom in to a point where roughly the same width on the screen is 5m that in Locus is 30m. So ca. 2 levels more.

One more thing: I didn't log out yesterday and then opened the planner again today. Under "Account", instead of my email there was an empty area, and below "Logout": When clicking on "My Library", it was empty, but no error messages. After manual logout I could log-in again and then everything was fine.
But I think there should be some "you have been logged out due to inactivity" message or the like.

@slarti76 if there has been lots of deletions (eg. tracks) on one device/ SQlite database, the file space is not immediately compacted for performance reasons. There is a VACUUM command but not of importance to non-programmers.

Thx, I am a programmer and should've assumed something like this.
So far I always used FolderSync to sync my databases, so I'm getting cautious if two files are suddenly different even if they should contain the same data. I was also always unsure whether to sync the db-journal files, too. Well, not important anymore, now that built-in sync is (almost) ready to go.

I know, but these tracks were displayed before. So track displayed -> sync -> track not displayed anymore. May also be related to experience after startup, see below, so will try again with next version.

It's not the selection of the point where to start Insert/edit, it's about the moving of the points. Hmm, I think the video is necessary.

Will do. Perhaps I can do both in one video.

That's what I meant, the "Nothing to display" bug was reported before, but happens very rarely. Not that important.
The thing about not visible track during recording was reported by @joeloc as well, just a few posts before my post. Anyway, didn't find a way to reproduce it, will watch it.

Different size in DB > It's possible. Can't say the exact reason without investigation.

Nevermind, just weird, because synced two other devices before, and there the sizes were the same.

Feature request > multi-export, sorry, not possible now. Too much work.

Yeah, sorry, had this on my weekend's list, but really don't belong here. Will write an idea on help desk.

First observations:

• Is editing an existing track planned? Or at least using it as base for a new one?
• After displaying a track from my library and returning to "Plan", the displayed track is gone. Would be nice to see a displayed track during planning, for reference; but at least the last displayed track should be restored automatically when returning to "My Library". Also, the last position (displayed folder) in the library should be restored, otherwise it's a hassle to click through again.
• Zoom in is locked at some point, ok, but I think it's too early. The ruler on my screen shows 30m, I think you should allow at least 2 more levels.

[No track sync after just editing a waypoint]

Weekend in the snow, first time with two devices (phone & tab) with LM4, syncing. Unfortunately, quite some minor and not-quite-so-minor problems, please have a look:

• No track sync after just editing a waypoint
  This is the biggest. I had a track synced on both deviced, then on the tab I just edited the position (not name) of a waypoint and synced again - but the position was still wrong on the phone. Then I deleted a single point on the tab and synced again - now the track was correct on the phone, including the edited waypoint.
• More sync stuff
  Also, synced tracks are sometimes not displayed after a sync, have to hide and show them again in the track list.
• Track editor Insert/edit: Cannot select point exactly
  In the track editor, when you have points close to each other, you cannot select the right point for moving. At first thought it's just the inexactness of selecting things with a finger, but I tried again with a BT mouse, and really: Locus always selects a point a little to the left or left-down of the actual click position. Made a video, can DM you, if you wish.
• Track editor: Insert/edit not working after 1 or 2 edits
  I edited a point, and perhaps a second point, but after that, Insert/Edit doesn't show the movable point icons anymore and is useless. Have to leave track editor and start it again. That's rather new, and I could reproduce it in LM3 and LM4. Definitely worked a while ago. Could make a video for that, too.
• Minimum zoom out factor not working
  In config.cfg, there's this setting map_zoom_scale_min_percent. That doesn't work correctly (LM3 and LM4), probably since you introduced this more automatic zoom factor determination based on device capabilities. What happens: I lock the map zoom with the button and then zoom out. Even if I have that setting at 10 (percent), on the phone I can only "zoom out" to 100% (so, not at all), on the tab 54% is the minimum. It all depends on the zoom you had before and whether "magnify all maps" is selected. But I think it should not, the last zoom should always zoom out to the given minimum. I know, you introduced this for speed reasons, but with newer devices it's less and less necessary, and anyway, if I explicitly choose such a small factor, Locus should accept that
  
• Display hiccups after startup/inactivity
  After Locus got killed by Android, I had several times that active tracks were not displayed, first had to zoom around. Same happens sometimes during a recording - I once thought recording stop, but I had to pan and zoom a little, and there the track was again. Also, I sometimes get this "Nothing to display" instead of "Base map" which was reported by someone before.
  EDIT: joeloc reports the problem during track recording, too.

Additionally, a question: Even though both synced databases (track and waypoint) had the same content (I checked all folder contents), they had different sizes: The one which I synced later is 114MB, whereas the "original" is just 100MB.

And, last but not least, a little feature request: Would it be possible to extend the Export Track screen such that you don't have to select a single format, but instead have the buttons of all formats and then mark the onces you need? I very often need to export GPX and KML/KMX at the same time, would be great to be able to do it in one step.

4 overall thoughts about new trackpoint screen:

How do I get there? Have newest beta, but in normal view as well as track editor, there's only the well-known tooltips on each point.Sorry, found it. Didn't have that menu point enabled...

3. Is now starving for a possibility to created an embedded WP from the current tp. But additionally "Add embedded WP" should also be in the tracks context menu, because it has a position.

Yes, yes, 1000x yes! Been hoping for this for ages...

I am kind of glad about what you feel with your 320 MB track DB ...
That may in the end trigger a solution like a second track DB for "historical" tracks, with the standard DB only holding the latest tracks.

Well, this plays right into my perennial idea for the sync function in LM4 to be able to upload everything, but choose which folders to sync on a certain device. Then the cloud storage would be the complete "archive", and I for example would sync the whole db to my tab, where speed is less important. On my phone, I could just sync just what's currently needed/of interest. And if you need sth from the archive, just select additional folders in sync.

But Menion says he has something like that on his list for the future, but first syncing has to be rolled out and work reliably in its basic iteration. Which I totally understand.

Noticed some usability problem in Route Planner, probably always been there:
I was planning a round trip and wanted to use a POI again that I already used as part of the route. However, when clicking the POI a second time, I only get the option to change the point type (square, triangle, what-have-you). I think, the three "Add to route" buttons (at start, in the middle, at end) should be here, too.

locus map pro supports full screen monitor on Samsung DeX
When I ran the locus map4 beta 2 version on DeX yesterday, it seems that it cannot support full screen.
I would like to support this part as well

Weird, for me (Galaxy Tab S5e), LMP doesn't go to fullscreen or even resize in DeX. Didn't try LM4 yet...

I never considered the position of the zoom buttons as a problem. Buttons are connected to the big centering button, not directly to the center of the screen. So it depends on the screen resolution. But yes, usually they are close to the middle.

The color of the buttons is an interesting topic. A single color probably can't be always "perfect". I'll maybe try to play a little bit with shadows > thanks for the tip.

Controlling is a problem with gloves ... always. Hmm, what you need is close to the existing "Screen lock" function, except this completely disable all taps. Hmm ...

Doesn't everyone use the volume buttons with gloves?
That said, I also sometimes thought it would be great to have a "limited screen lock", where zooming and panning is possible, but no other interaction (except disabling the screen lock, obviously). During a tour, I often take out the phone to look at the map, and then I want to see what's ahead, but can't pan in Screen lock mode.
Dreaming on about this, why not hide all buttons and stuff in screen lock? They are useless and give the wrong impression they are active. Then screen lock would be just the map over the full display, allowing zooming and panning, and of course the slide from the left to deactivate it. Whatcha think?

Did you already change that in latest beta? Because I think I accidentally had the same situation again, and this time there was a dialog box. If so, thx, that's much better

Another tiny thing: In the sync screen, when I change the "Automatic Sync" setting and go back to the sync overview, it still shows the previous setting. Have to go out of sync and open it again, then the setting is displayed correctly.
