Hi guys,
I've not read all posts precisely this time (will have to do at start of the next week). Anyway, some major crashes and minor tweaks were fixed in the new Beta version 4.23.1.4_1132. Have a nice weekend!

Hello Jack,
good observation. Indeed, points with identical names to the category they belong to, do not appear in the search results. I see currently no simple solution, sorry.

During the second half of this year, we should start work on the new version of the offline LoPoints database, which should also solve this problem. Unfortunately, this will be available only in the Locus Map 4.

Quote from: Menion on April 30, 2024, 16:17:53– endlich funktionierte die Umrissfarbe für Tracks

That is very nice.
Then you could add an option to the navigation line so that the gradient is also displayed in the middle.
The pink on the left and right and the gradient in the middle.
It's very useful on the road. That way I can see how long the steep incline will last. Or I can see when a steep section is coming up.

New Beta version MapGooglePlay_4.23.1.3_1132_beta with a few very interesting additions

- fixed! an issue with the app stuck during navigation after recalculations
- finally working the outline color for tracks
- and more

---

Btw in the previous Beta was also highly reduced battery consumption during track recording when the screen was on. On my device, during 3h simulated recording, it was reduced from 30% to 18% (only when the screen is on).

@Andrew:
maybe try the package installer (if this is due to permissions) or redownload package?

Tap the imported navigation track display > Tap the track pop up info > Select Chart > Tap Left bottom Icon > Settings > Advanced settings > Select "Show waypoints" > SET.  Done. = The VIA point Icons (as set) are shown onto the elevation graph.

You presumably mean the announcement of a Via Point ?
You can add via points using the route planner.
You can assign a free name to each via point.
A via name is announced just like turns by TTS.

@Diddi: There is a very recent update of the Geocaching4Locus addon in the Playstore. Maybe that will solve your problem, I haven't tried it.

@Menion: Manual segments now seem to be permanently retained with "Recalculate all", even after saving the route. Perfect.

I have the same impression, although from another scenario. Locus running in the background as a service basically 7 x 24 (even when not out of the house), over time it will eat up memory. This makes some popup menus pure white. Most of the cases it recovers some time later, but sometimes I need to restart Locus to get it back "on track".
As memory leaks are one of the hardest things to catch in development, I recommend to switch off shading while traveling. For planning I understand shading is very helpful. While "executing" it's not, for sure not when you go 100 mph + :-)))
Anyway, just my 2c, trying to "buy time" until resolution, which might take quite some time.
Cheers
Michael

PS: I am not claiming that shading IS the culprit, but for sure it is a load for battery and memory alike, hence low hanging fruit - without guarantees, though ...
