thanks for the video. That´s exactly how i tried it (on my device and not in a VM), but it doesn´t work.
Double checked that i had the right version installed and restarted the app, but no luck...
Have you tried it on your device or only in the VM?

Or am i in the wrong place? We are talking about the screen that opens when you click the "track record button", right?

it's possible only for a chart in dashboard. Not in track record panel. Style of items in track record panel will be fixed, not configurable. So there is just currently need to setup some default values for two possible charts that may be placed to track record panel.

And how do i edit the settings for the dashboard chart? couldn´t find it anywhere.

How did you record that video clip that you attached earlier in this thread? I found a little bug in Locus that is best shown in a video clip. Do I have to use an extra app for that?

In the change log it says "added ability to define various base parameters for charts in dashboard" - where can i do so? I would like to deactivate the speed profile (red chart), as i don´t need it and it makes it harder to read the height profile (blue).

great job on the geocaching point screen - Nice to have my hint and log button back at the bottom and the right side slide in makes it easier to control it with your thumb (if you are right handed ;-) ).How about being able to open the slide-in menu with the hardware menu button too?
I can confirm the app crash when setting count of visible items to 12. When i first set it to 12 locus crashed whilst i was still in the settings menu. After restarting locus i clicked on "track record" but it didn´t open. I was able to continue using locus for ~15 seconds before it crashed. After setting it back to "10" I had no further crashes.

New track record screen:
- Rearranging the displayed information: It´s a bit complicated to swap two fields. One example: i want to swap "speed" and "Altitude", both have already been assigned to a field. I click on the "speed" field and then select "altitude", but get the message "item altitude already exists". So i have to use an item that is not assigned as an extra step to be able to swap them. How about allowing to untick an item so that you can easily assign it to a different field?
- On the left hand side of the height diagram you have one height (e.g. 400m), but it would be useful to have at least two, otherwise you can´t tell how steep an incline really is (see screenshot).

Feature requests:
- Can i somehow define different symbols for added points during track recording? e.g. have the photo symbol when taking a picture? I know i can choose it each time i create a point, but it would be great to assign a different symbol for each type of point (picture, audio,video).
- Using the dashboard editor i can get the "create point during track record" button back on the main screen - would it be possible to also add the "picture point" button in the dashboard editor so i can have that one back too?

Also there is a little inconsistency in the new geocaching screen - to add a waypoint you now have to open the side bar (although on screen it still says "press + to add a waypoint"). To add an attachment you still have to use the + button at the top.

hidden menu - how about making the popup menu scrollable? Like that you could at least get to the rest of the buttons.
Have you had a chance to look at the rest of my bug report? I edited it twice to add some more points to it.

see 11 checkmarks in menu but only 7 fields

Have you tried the "count of visible items setting"?
It works for me, apart from the highest setting (12).

Any chance to focus the discussion about new versions back onto one place? It doesn´t help to have some of it here and some in the Google group.

On my hike today I was playing around with the height information in Locus and got a bit confused.
I have the Locus GPS information displayed in the top bar (which includes height info) and I have the "dynamic altitude" setting activated, which shows the height information next to the crosshair (map center).
When the map center is the same as my current location, these two height values should be the same, but they are not - today the difference was around 50 meters.
My phone does not have a pressure sensor, so all values must be from GPS or a database (like the hgt files).
The map center height info must be from the .hgt files that i downloaded, as i only have that info (offline) in areas for which I have downloaded those. Am i right there?
But what is the basis for the info in the top bar? Because that value keeps fluctuating a lot, even when i don´t move.

I must say that the altitude manager is a bit confusing. Is there some explanation of it´s settings somewhere?
What is the difference between the Geoid and NMEA Correction?
Any experience on what delivers the most precise height info without a pressure sensor?

And another question - is there a better way yet to get the .hgt files than creating a point and filling in the height info? Is it possible to download the .hgt file for a whole region or country?

Edit: I found the manual for the altitude manager, but I am still nore sure about some of it... will have another look into it tomorrow, it´s too late now.

Na das kommt ganz darauf an, wofür du Locus hauptsächlich benutzt - radfahren, wandern, cachen, auf See, in der Luft,...?
Ich persönlich finde die "Entfernungsringe", "Blickrichtung" und die "Linie zu GPS" sehr praktisch, in der rechten Leiste können auch externe Apps abgelegt werden (z.B. eine Taschenlampe), mit den Dashboards kann man sich praktische Infos  auf den Hauptbildschirm holen.
Aber am besten schaust du wirklich selber, was für dich Sinn macht und was nicht ;-)

Now that there is no need to register with google+ I downloaded the latest version and did a little test run today.
First things first - i love the new track record screen and also the geocaching side menu. I think it would be useful to be able to open the side menu with the menu button too, as it seems to have no other function at the moment anyway.
I am afraid i agree with the others though - the hint button and log cache button are used very often when caching and i didn´t see anything wrong with having them at the top. Although i guess i could get used to having them in the side menu ;-)

Bugs/Issues i found:
New track record screen:
- The height profile chart "flickers" sometimes - the diagram disappears and reappears and the text ("distance") moves up. I tried to make a screenshot but never caught the right moment
- Some of the settings have no German translations yet, but i guess you are aware of that.

- When clicking on a track that´s too low down on the screen, the menu opens but is cut off and some buttons can´t be reached (it´s not possible to scroll down either) (see second screenshot)

In  Track record screen settings -> count of visible items the setting "12" doesn´t do anything, all the others work though.

Merkwürdige Sache, aber schön, dass jetzt alles funktioniert. Viel Spaß mit Locus!
Auch wenn es ein wenig Aufwand ist kann ich nur empfehlen, sich mal ein paar Stunden hinzusetzen und alle Einstellungen durchzuschauen. Locus biete viele geniale Möglichkeiten, von denen man gar nicht wusste wie nützliche sie sind, bis man sie mal ausprobiert hat.

Only weird thing was, that the google group was empty when i logged in on my phone (no text, no link, nothing). Worked fine on the PC though.
New Locus test version is installed and running now :-)
