V 3.40.0 RC2
although the language is set to english, all texts are displayed in german.
For me, both System Default and English (United States) mean Locus texts are in English, which is as it should be.

for me systenm language is german, since now language setting in FREE/BETA was always set to english and it worked well.
OK, there *is* something wrong here. If I change language in Locus settings away from system (which is English), Locus texts remain English.

@menion @tapio
This is the reference I found to this error or similar in Mapsforge: https://github.com/mapsforge/mapsforge/issues/929#issuecomment-284289541
(See issue #1)

However Locus very rarely chooses to render labels as multi line text.

@menion
It does seem to be an MF problem. At least I found someone reporting the same artefact with MF two years ago.

@menion I understand your love of texts in MF4. Just to add that I have also recently seen the texts which are normally single line in Locus split into multi line correctly. So somewhere, some code is doing this! I thought this was a MF4 feature but that you were not using their code. Strange.

I had a strange effect with text in the latest beta today, which is not reproduceable in my armchair. However I took a screen grab at the time.
Some placename texts split to form two or more lines but the position of the split is arbitrary. See Baltimor/e, Horsesho/e Harbour and Sherki/n/Island in the example below. The second image is the app behaving properly back at base.

Have you checked Settings > Maps > Online Maps > Cache Maps is set on?
On my installation, Maps (Online Maps) > ... > Details gives details of whether the map can be cached and the size of the map in the cache.
Maps (Online Maps) > ... > Set 'valid for' is blank by default but can be changed to cause regular updating where required.

An update to my last post, too.
Starting the latest beta with OAM MF4 Great Britain and Voluntary MF theme gave me a pure white map. After cycling through themes it displayed correctly.

An hour into a walk, Locus beta screen went blank (white) with OAM Great Britain MF4 map, while Lomap England displayed OK. Restarting the phone did not help but cycling through different themes solved it later. Not reproduceable of course

I strongly suspect that option #1 (cruiser.gr) is a totally different application and works differently.

Just to note, my Voluntary theme for Locus makes use of the MF5 scaling in Locus. A generic MF4 version of the theme which works with other apps is also available in this forum or via OAM.
Also to note, any MF4 themes from elsewhere ought to work on MF4+ maps in Locus.

Just want to say that applying presets to routing preferences, and resetting afterwards, is a stroke of genius. It's suddenly made presets really useful. Well done.

Locus doesn't support line curve="cubic" in MF4. Locus MF4 themes ought to be fully supported in other MF4 apps as far as I know, with one proviso. Locus supports MF5 scaling of dotted or dashed lines. Any themes that make use of that will not work on MF4 apps.

The map preview of track style shows an incorrect width if "m" is chosen instead of "px", at least with a pattern style. The preview width is vastly too big and misleading.
Edit: after saving the track style it no longer is incorrect.
