May I know which GPS Tracker you chose in the end ?
I have almost the same interest as you.
I started looking for it at many years ago, but didn't find it.
Of course I found TK102 and it worked really well, but its quality was too poor.

In mobile phones, or more accurately in android, there seems to be a special URL, I know Locus supports it. ( See attach image )
But the quality of that product is too poor. Its name seems to be TK102, or TK103 and so on.
So actually I want to find a better one.

And I don't want to give up Locus, because I really like Locus, so I came here to ask.

For this purpose you can use Tasker,
create a profile that reacts to an SMS request from a specific contact "from +3391234567 and text where_are_U"
with an action, sending sms with coordinates in the form you prefer (the simplest are the built-in gmaps format).
No data connection needed only mobile and gps. (in rooted phones you can enable and disable gps with an action to save the battery, but you need more time to get better accuracy on the position).
Locus is great but I think this is not it's field of use

No, I want to find a standalone portable tracker. It is not a mobile phone, no need to install locus.
Such as: ACR ARTEX product. http://www.acrartex.com/
But they don't seem to have a SIM card installed.

I am always looking for a Locator Beacon and Tracking portable  product.
I hope it can send SMS with Latitude and longitude coordinates.
Because using the SMS will save power and be reliable.
I might use it to protect my children or my luggage etc.
So that I can know the location at any time.
Of course, it would be better if Locus could read and recognize the SMS automatically.
Have you any suggestion ?

the tiles are current download area  or  total tiles of current map ?

I feel it is total tiles of current map ?( Because I seems lose a lot of tiles after download .)

However I think it should only current download area.

Because we may single download other area of current map ? OK ?

This seems to be a small bug :
Some menus's font colour is white and background colour is grey, so there is difficult for look at.
Software version include V3.9.0 and V3.9.1

Currently the function "live tracking" will send your position to a server of your choice.
That's all what Locus can do for now.
Feel free to send you data to any service.
If you know one - let us know.

Then anyone or someone of be authorize will can see my position on map , it is also tack me ?

My meaning is download a preview of global map to easy find object.
Such as only automatic download  Zoom 1 to Zoom 5 of global map that it can keep a small size of cached.

When download a map of area, locus only download define the area , of course this is no any problem.
However first if it does not download map of the global world, then we find the object of download is very difficult.
So, if Locus should automatic download a map of the global world is very well  to we can easy find the object of download .

Of course, we need also think that the issue of only map of area no global map. Such as some map of Israel.
