Hi guys,

I'm still in the getting to know phase with locus.
What I've noticed is that fonts of town names of also icons such as water sources in the map get smaller once I'm zooming in. I would expect the opposite.
Is there a way to change this?

Thanks!

Are we talking about vector maps or tile maps?
For Vector Maps you can increase the text size under Settings->Maps->Map objects->Text size and Icon size under Settings->Maps->Points and Tracks->Map icon size .
You can also increase the general map resolution (which to me only makes sense for tile maps) under Maps->Advanced features->increase map resolution. You can also put a Quick Settings button for this in your sidebar on the main screen to be able to toggle the map resolution with just 2 clicks. I use hat quite often, when I´m changing between vector maps and tile maps, as the tile map text and icons is too small on my phone. I think that has to do with the screen resolution of the phone you are using.

@eldron thank you for good points.

@Locita - would you please send us screenshots that would help us to understand your situation. In case that you use vector maps, please send me also the name the theme you use.

Hi, thanks for your replies guys!
Some examples attached - see how fonts and icons get smaller when zooming?
It's open andromaps

The andromaps themes are deprecated and no longer supported. I thought they didn't scale, and I am surprised they appear to scale in reverse! [Edit: Sorry, as Tobias points out below these screenshots are not from the andromaps themes.]
The Elevate/Elements themes on the OAM site are more up to date though not fully optimised for the Locus app or LoMaps.
You could try one of the built-in Locus themes or my Voluntary theme (available for free from the Locus store, or here, which are designed to scale subtly on zooming.
The best theme to use depends on your intended purpose and the map you are using. There are other free themes on the Locus store or this forum which may suit your purposes better.

The theme used is a pretty current version of Elevate, not Andromaps, and the map is also one of OpenAndroMaps, as surface is rendered.
But the symbols/text size shouldn't be reduced by zooming, and also aren't in all but one example - that's just an optical illusion. As everything around is enlarged it seems that they are smaller, but they aren't. In the first example it seems like the text size is reduced via a Locus setting (or some bug), because in the theme code the size is constant.

Tried the elevate theme now, zooming seems to work correctly.
Any other theme you'd recommend for hiking over the elevate one?

The Hiking style of the excellent Elevate theme gives some very detailed information, which is customisable to your taste.
Personally, I find it too detailed for my rather tame use and you might like to look at the Hiking style of my Voluntary theme, mentioned above. In the end I think it depends on how wild your walking is going to be!

Let's say wild...
Though even with the legend I downloaded I can't fully make sense of all icons, seems to be incomplete even though they claim to be self explanatory

Did you check the link for symbols in the Elevate key?
