QuoteAbout new Locus theme structure Summer/Winter
Seriously?
Seriously? Yes, at least for now :-) Honestly I'm not sure if winter/summer is the best solution. But what's the better name for summer theme?
1. General topo & hiking & cycling & mtb  theme ?
2. Summer theme ?
I'm still convinced that "Summer" is the best name for all activities. However I can imagine "Bike & Hike" name.  Give me some reasons or ideas why to rename, please.

I disagree. Those activities don't necessarily happen just in that season. Confusing. Why not just individual activity based themes like Elements LE? Seems consistent with recording profiles, maybe.

Agree with @gynta, can't see point of season-based themes.

Why, if there are season-based paper maps ? E.g. summer/winter outdoor maps for highlands or mountains.

Menion

Season based maps probably exists, but what we have here is not a Summer theme for hiking and winter theme for hiking.
Truth is, that winter theme may evoke using this theme for hiking in winter, which is of course not correct. Maybe some "Base theme" name should be better as it do not specify exactly usage.
As I read some discussion somewhere, guy complain about road theme and Petr suggested to use "Summer" theme with disabled hike & bike tracks. It's perfect, it's different use for this theme. And well, "summer" make no sense here. Sorry, have to agree.

@Andrew Heard: hmm broken merge, I'll check it, thanks

maybe for some countries, but weird concept for others.

Hmm. you are probably right - based on supposed activity is better, like Bike/Hiking versus Cross-country skiing.

In AUSTRALIA-Tasmania more summer riding, for South Australia more winter, for top end only dry-season, each state is very different. Every culture is different. Viva la difference.

In some countries there are ice roads in winter in place of ferry crossings, for example. But I don't know if any of the maps show them as such.

I agree.
I think in that menu we'd find all the elements and set up the transparency for each one.
Full transparency = disabled

Thank you for comments about names of themes. I'll discuss it with team - "Hike & Bike" / "Ski" could be ideal solution. BUT you gave me another idea - "General" theme. What about to remove City theme and create something between City and Hike & Bike. Menion gonna kill me but I like this idea.

@john_percy - interesting idea. I'll add ice roads into next LoMaps

IMHO, I would keep scenario themes as the baseline, with bunch of check-in options to tweak them,
like Elevate theme for OpenAndroMaps ( Hiking / Cycling / City, each with lot of options )
