I am probably totally daft and blind, but I can't find the option to switch on continuous location updates on the map so that wen I am moving about, the map always shows the spot I am at.
What am I missing?

thx

Hi afx,

for this, you have to press the very left button at the bottom.

That just updates the position, I am looking for continuous updating.

You are talking about the selected button (see screenshot)? If this is selected, the map is moved continuosly to your current position - if you have a GPS fix.

Hi afx,
did you check whether you have a satellite fix?
Because as long as you have one, locus should allows show your current location on the map.
The button that KaHeMu was talking about should then center your map on your current location and also make sure that the map stays centered on your location.

Ahh, some light comes up ;-)

Looks like the phones GPS toggle and the Locus GPS toggle are not in sync.

Thanks to your hints I now have the location button in blue.

thx

Guess I was too optimistic...
Went out for lunch, the position icon was blue, satellites where plenty, but the arrow/circle stayed put.
So a block down I pressed the location button and the position was updated, but no continuous update ;-(

Anything I could have mis-configured?

thx

hi,
what you mean by "no continuous update"? Did you saw blue circle on map, or green? Better, are you able to post a screenshot of your screen? Maybe it should say more ...

The circle/arrow stays on one spot on the map instead of following my position while I move.

so problem is not, that map do not follow moving blue circle, but that the blue circle do not change it's location when you move, right?

Then it's some problem with refreshing location from internal GPS receiver. In some other program, this works fine for you?

Yup,
No change on the display when I move.

Google Maps and Waze work just fine.

Sorry for not replying yesterday, but as soon as I got home I was drowned.

But I found it. As expected it was something utterly stupid. ;-(

When initially playing with Locus I must have set some GPS energy saving option which resulted in Locus only updating at 60s and 100m intervals.
Because I did not remember setting it myself I always considered this a default for track recording and never thought it would apply to regular use.
Once my mental fog cleared and I turned this thing off, Locus tracked my progress on the map as expected.

thanks for your patience

ah I though it. You're welcome

It's visible on map (screenshot), because GPS icon in panel will have small "clock" symbol.

Good you found a problem.
