Different Sounds for POI Groups / 3D Map
« on: July 08, 2013, 21:49:13 »
Hi Locus Users,

after a eMail conversation with Mr. Developer telling him about some new ideas, he asked me to post them here. So here it is. :)

First of all, I have been testing map and navi progs for Android all over from Navigon, Tomtom, Freeware Stuff up and down the Internet. Locus Pro is one of the most flexible and professional pieces of Software for Mapping and Navigation I have seen so far, mostly perfect, but what I would missing is the option to be able to set different sounds for each POI group that you can specify the sound effects. This might me very handy while driving so you dont have to look at your display all the time.

The second thing I have been missing is the possibility to view the map in 3D.

What do you think, community?

Hats Off and regards,

Gopher.

Hi Gopher,
When you say 3d-Map, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean being able to see hills and valleys? Or 3D buildings in towns? Or do you mean that 3d view that some car nav systems have? Maybe you can supply a picture of what you mean?
And i am also not quite sure what you mean with different sounds for POIs? Should they sound when you get near that POI whilst driving? Or more for hiking / biking?

Hi guys, mainly Gopher,
I'm checking (rather) what I wrote, and ... sorry

"Good day,
I think, it's a nice idea. Be kind and post this idea on https://getsatisfaction.com/locus this site. If there will be interest from more people, I'll think about it"

I know, it's little bit confusing. Too much places where to get support for Locus and discuss. I'm trying to put main focus on GetSatisfaction site where should be general discussion about new features

so, back to topic, seems all is already there, so I suggest to vote or also comment in topics, you're interested

With 3D I meant to tilt the map like in google earth. a Real 3D Map with hills and mountains would be cool also but depends on map data i suppose. So a "simple" tilted map would be great for starters. >)
