Hi,

Another "killer" feature for everybodys use: The Weather!
And pretty challenging for the dev ;)

Have a look at this app: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15854693/wetter.info_v1.0.2.apk
It's german only, so I uploaded it to my dropbox.
A little description how you find the feature I'd like to see in Locus:
- open the app
- hit the menu button
- hit the lower left entry "Niederschlag"
- now you see the past 2 hours of rainfall over germany
- hit the screen somewhere and hit the button "Prognose" on the top
- now you see the prediction of clouds and rainfall for the next 12 hours over germany

I know, it's only for Germany, but if the Germans got this to work, I'm pretty sure there are also services for other countries too :P

This would be a really great extension and perhaps it could be one of the features you could make a widget?

Greetz, berkley

Quote from: "gogolyna"How do you find out information about cop radar for a court case? I am fighting a speeding ticket where the radar gave an incorrect reading (I was not travelling the speed he said I was), but I want to find out what type of unit the officer was using (radar, laser, etc). I would also like to see if I can get any documentation that exists prior to my court date, but I do not know where to go to get this information. The ticket is from a small town in my area, and they contract with the county sherriff dept for enforcement.

   What's wrong today???

I am really sorry for you and your speeding ticket. But you're definatly on the wrong site!!!

But thanks for the free Bump of my old thread!!!

it's normal Matthias ... leave this post be. I have no patient for them so I immediately delete post and also this users ...

EDIT: anyway when you opened this topic, what about some weather function into Locus? :) ... some simply .. "say me weather about this place for now and few more days" should be enough? I think that accuweather have some access to their data ...

For the US, there's a WMS service for the NEXRAD weather radar. I posted the link here: //http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=570&p=4284&hilit=NEXRAD#p4284

I would think that in Europe there might be similar WMS services.

I posted some more wms links: //http://forum.asamm.cz/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=570&p=4507#p4507

The Netherlands weather service has weather radar, but it does not cover all of Europe. The Norway service has layers that cover all of Europe (such as wind speed and direction, cloud cover, etc), but unfortunately no weather radar. The German service has some nice past data, such as total rainfall, but nothing current (so it's really climate information, not weather information). Not what you really want, but perhaps better than nothing  :)

I also found this service, at the UK Met Office: //http://data.ncof.co.uk:8080/ncWMS/wms?service=WMS&version=1.3.0&request=GetCapabilities

To use it I truncated the URL to this: //http://data.ncof.co.uk:8080/ncWMS/wms

Is that correct? I have found many URLs in that format, and have always truncated at the first "?", so I hope that's the right thing to do. Some of them have then worked, but some haven't. This one unfortunately not only does not work, it crashes Locus! That is a real pity, because if it could be made to work then I think you would get the layers you can view here: //http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/pws/invent/weathermap/. Most layers, including the weather radar, are only for the UK, but a few cover all of Europe. I wonder if the problem with this service is that it is a ncWMS service (see //http://www.resc.rdg.ac.uk/trac/ncWMS/)?
