Recorded track preview displays "connection failed" & map is not displayed - see screen cap - but Wifi/ mobile were never enabled during track recording & an offline map is selected, so there is no need for any connection. Can't reproduce now sorry/ working properly again but thought I should report it anyway.

bug: allow swipe-right to hide the Point Info panel in landscape mode; a swipe-down to hide in portrait mode works correctly.

I had a weird experience with the Route Planner in beta 8. Not a crash, but while planning a quite long route with many shaping points, the planner suddenly & silently closed, with a return to the normal map screen, and all my route lost when the Planner next opened. Only happened once; no idea how to reproduce it sorry.

beta 9 - point detail is truncated @ top when the description is too long for single line - see attached

  • FIX not closing SSO dialog after login
confirmed fixed

So this will explain why the recorded track is often not displayed? And sometimes takes lots of zoom in/out pan left/ right to encourage a map repaint?

beta 8 - opening change log screen is blank/ only release notes for 4.0.0 beta 6 are shown in Help

Attached is my "test POI" where there is a sealed/ unsealed transition. The new theme is looking great. Well done. It does look better on a bigger PC screen (and with glasses) compared to a phone screen, but still nice! I intentionally reduced the image resolution a little to simulate a bit of device blurriness.

1) SSO - Please, could you send me exact version of your browser so I can try reproduce it? Btw is this happening also in private mode (I can think of some plugin doing this)?
@janaton as I said in the previous post, with (latest) Vivaldi & Chrome on Windows 10 (Home). I hardly ever use Chrome; it is just there for testing really; completely default settings.

Vivaldi 3.6.2165.34 (Stable channel) (64-bit) no blocking enabled; however geolocation blocked
Google Chrome Version 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) default settings

2) Default geo location - Actually web planner should ask you for the permission to use geolocation service. If you grant it then web planner should automatically change map to you coordinates.
Correct, I had blocked geolocation in Vivaldi. When I change to "ask" or "allow" the permission is asked. When I click Yes, the default euro-centric map is still displayed. Chrome didn't ask for this permission. But anyway, I don't see why it should be necessary. It may not be my physical location that I want, just restore the previous location. Just save current lat/lon to a cookie? eg. http://brouter.de/brouter-web/#map=16/-42.8384/147.3049/standard. BRouter always restores to the last displayed position with no drama.

Attached is a sneaky peek at the road surfaces/grades overlay option I have prototyped for the OS Map theme.
a sneaky peak ;-) NICE. Looks great on my PC screen. Looking forward to checking on smaller device screen.

QuoteDifferent size in DB > It's possible. Can't say the exact reason without investigation.
Nevermind, just weird, because synced two other devices before, and there the sizes were the same.
@slarti76 if there has been lots of deletions (eg. tracks) on one device/ SQlite database, the file space is not immediately compacted for performance reasons. There is a VACUUM command but not of importance to non-programmers.

- trackpoint timestamp: just scroll down, values should be at the bottom of the dialog
@menion - thank you

In the track point editor mode (1st attached) it is now possible to long-tap the < and > buttons to go to first & last point. Nice.

Would it be possible to have same long-tap feature in Point Detail screen (2nd attached) for << and >> buttons? Also, as already mentioned, it would be good for these 4 buttons to be a little larger.

2. Bigger icons please for the nav arrows

I am thinking of adding a emphasise road surfaces/grades option to allow easier route planning at low zooms... probably colour coded to the quality of the road surface somehow.
wow - nice

BTW you have a checkbox for <Drive on left & right side>. I'm just curious what affect this has - no other theme has this feature.

1) Popup login - I am not sure if I understand correctly. SSO login screen and login dialog should automatically close after succesfull login. Is this working differently or you would prefer some "Logged in succesfully" message displayd?
@janaton for me SSO login screen does not automatically close after successful login; I have tested with Vivaldi & Chome on Windows 10

2) Restoring last location - we have discussed this internally and we have mostly agreed that almost each time we plan route in different location thus remembering last location is not really a benefit. If there is enough votes we can add this as optional settings.
no real benefit for those on the default map right? For those that live elsewhere in the world there is absolutely no reason to see the whole map of UK/Europe each time they go to the router home page. It should be unnecessary to pan & zoom back to their country, let alone location, each time they log in.

For me in order to use it on PC, this web planner has to compete with brouter-web - hard task. E.g., web planner starts with a very zoomed out view... wheras in brouter-web I can save and share a track (and many properties) via the glorious URL "command line" system.

I mean like:

http://brouter.de/brouter-web/#map=11/51.3214/8.0495/standard,HikeBike.HillShading&lonlats=7.954102,51.363207;8.114777,51.333615;8.048172,51.293654;7.91153,51.271317;7.928696,51.337868&pois=7.925949,51.309112,Test&profile=hiking-beta
@tapio precisely; everything I test with the new Locus webpage is in comparison to BRouter, but for new Locus users this may not be so important

In Czech Republic, it is not thinkable that secondaries or even tertiaries would be unsealed. Even if tertiaries may have low quality or broken asphalt.
@poutnikl maybe so, but better not to be assumed when the app is used world-wide

I'm thinking about using some transparent PNG surface textures to overlay the road cores for "surface" and "tracktype"
@karlchick on a PC screen the textures are subtle, so in my opinion will be quite hard to distinguish on a smaller Android screen. The "peck marks" used by John with the Voluntary theme are also too subtle (for me). I modified Bernard's Desert theme XML to make unsealed more evident; that is the great thing about XML compared to a binary format.

cloud sync: 100% reliable so far between phone/ website, well done. Tested adds/ edits/ deletes both ways.

track editor: it's great to see the previous/ next buttons for the point detail, and long tap for 1st/ last point, but please also (re)add the recorded timestamp of the point into the statistics. I'm sure this was previously available, now there is no way to determine the time of riding at recorded point?
