@T-mo - I've mentioned this (stupid far away search results) a few times, but fell on deaf ears. Has never made sense to me either ;-(

@Graf Geo - for me in 4.21.1.4 there is just a single line at the bottom - same as pre beta

Quote from: Graf Geo on March 08, 2024, 23:20:16The "collaps" function is very practical
I've never seen this menu function, and dragging down the panel now works fine for me anyway

I've not seen these either

Further to my last post & @freischneider I've made a video showing how hard it is to hide the new bottom panel - 5 attempts to drag down & hide - it kept on popping up. Finally got it to "stay down" - why is it so tedious? Also suggest the visibility is a sticky setting. Once LM knows the user doesn't want to see this panel, keep it hidden (as in previous version). Even better would be to remember the users preferred height of this panel & restore it next time.

Overall I like the new navigation UI. Nice ideas. It ties in with the Web Planner UI. It is amazing to reflect on how far LM navigation has progressed since the first integration with BRouter.

1) I'd agree with @tapio. I don't think the default use-case when tapping a point name should be a search? From the point menu surely enough? Panning the point into view on the map, same as tapping the point icon, seems more intuitive to me. And definitely long-tap on the point icon to toggle, or display point details?

2) It would be *really nice* if the drag up bottom panel provided a ">" button, consistent with ordinary track details panel, to show the full chart, and (in my case) slope.

3) 6 points in the list is taking up too much screen space - half of tablet in portrait orientation. As @tapio said it would be good if it could be more compact, and, for me, maybe 3 points are enough. Could the user drag the bottom panel to their desired height rather than a height where each user wants something different? I know each shaping point has it's number in middle of the green triangle, but so hard to see, so could the number also be included in the point name, similar to Via point name, as marked up below?

4) Could tapping on the profile icon in between each point allow selection, and changing, of the method of segment routing?

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.21.+ ( 1/2024 )

Quote from: Menion on January 26, 2024, 08:29:53are you sure, that the toilet icon is offline LoPoint? So the active clickable point that comes from the (attached to the map) offline database?
You may recognize lopoints by visible "Add photo" icon in the top right corner of the point detail.
@menion - just doubled checked - yes offline LoPoint & "Add photo" icon.

A different topic, and probably an observation rather than any action needed, but I have 4.21.0 installed on device:

and yet Google Play Store offers to update to 4.20?? I declined the offer. I have not seen this before, and probably tomorrow everything will be "back in sync".

excellent/ perfect - all & none ;-) great example showing how previously the bike parking POI were hidden in the "map clutter" and now clearly evident with all theme settings turned off!!

Themes - Vector maps / Re: [Theme] Tapiola

@tapio - I've created a simple theme so that temporary LoPoints are more visible, and background "clutter" is avoided. Gee - I didn't realize how complicated these themes are. How are they modified? Some special theme editor? It is so tedious & error prone using a plain text editor.

Quote from: Tapio on January 17, 2024, 16:30:20A quick test showed me that amenity=bicycle_parking is not included in OAM...
that's a shame (weird) isn't it - the one time I want to find bike parking in a bike-friendly GPS app, and I luck out ;-( Thanks for trying.

@tapio - suggestion - given your theme is for cyclists, optionally display bike parking as POI? Attached is map around OSM node https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/6804728475. Maybe I have missed a theme setting? Online LM route planner correctly displays the bike park @ https://web.locusmap.app/en/?lat=-42.883736&lng=147.333798&z=19&map=hikeBike (although it is tiny, nearly invisible), as does online bikerouter @ https://brouter.m11n.de/#map=19/-42.88322/147.33309/standard.

@Tapio or Cloud Sync, then delete on device, then Cloud Sync... if you dare. Quite slow too, of course. I have done this once & it worked but still feels risky.

4.20.1.1: confirmed screen width fix for 7" displays - thanks

I note from https://www.locusmap.app/locus-map-4-20-and-other-pre-christmas-news/ about the opening "animation". I've never seen this on an actual device (3). Does the device need to be younger than certain age/ OS version before the animation occurs?

Quote from: Tapio on December 02, 2023, 08:06:36I will look at it. What I instantly see is, Karl draws two lines, left and right from roads
@Tapio - no, it's more complex for this bridge. Those are two completely separate/ individually mapped cycleways/ footpaths on each side of the bridge. Yes OSM has the provision/ shortcut for showing footpaths alongside a road, but this bridge is not mapped in OSM like that.

the URL I used in a previous post wasn't very helpful, try

south side https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/177421221

Quote from: Tapio on November 25, 2023, 13:41:01Thanks. Route planner route still leaking into main screen btw.
same here, no change, ~8s from exit route planner until the planned route is removed from map

@menion - this new Aspect map shading is quite interesting but could it be further enhanced with color saturation proportional to the slope? i.e. a very pale color would suggest a flatter area, and very strong color (like the current) suggest steeper areas. This would then combine the best attributes of existing Slope shading. At present even quite flat areas have strong color, perhaps too strong, and maybe defeats the purpose.
