Themes - Vector maps / [Theme] V-Scale

new theme in preparation...

2013/08/09 Update of powerlines as proposed by john_percy in viewtopic.php?f=40&t=3187&p=21689#p22858

I´ve created a new theme bundle for OpenAndroMaps and maps from Locus store.
What´are the differences to the older Volatile themes?
1.
In older themes, the icons become smaller and smaller as you zoom more into the map
These V(olatile)-Scale themes are full scalable, all icons (.png files) are changed to SVGs (scalable vector graphics). So it´s now possible to let the icons grow while zoom in.
A lot of the icons are inspired from openstreetmap ( https://trac.openstreetmap.org/browser/ ... /map-icons).
Some I´ve created by my own.
2.
The streets and the street names are now better visible.
The descriptions (refs) of the cycle and hike routes are placed along the routes for better visible.
3.
I rounded the end of the wider lines for the refs, so the curves are looking a bit smoother and no longer disrupted.

a. V-Scale_Pure
the theme for sightseeing in the city
b. V-Scale_Hike
like a. plus hiking routes
c. V-Scale_Cycle
like a. plus cycle routes and mtb ways. (including track grades and up and down difficulties)
You´ll see also some barriers at zoom level 17 and up.
not yet available OCM and Winter. (I´m thinking about)

The themes are developed with a Samsung Note 2 and controlled with a Galaxy S2 and Defy.
I hope, they are usefull for you with other phones too.
So please let me know.

For installation unzip the bundle in ..Locus/mapsVector/_themes directory of Locus. Don´t forget to restart Locus.

I was playing around with some other stuff, as I thought about hiking and cycling overlays for online maps like Outdooractive online maps.
So I extracted the cycle and hike routes from the volatile themes and put it together with another nice online map.
This is the result:

[attachment=1:jqjk538n]Overlay.jpg[/attachment:jqjk538n]

You can believe me it´s much better looking in reality.
1. So extract the small overlay.zip into your _themes directory.
2. load an openandromap (vector map)
3. change the theme to Overlay-Hike p. e..  (you´ll get the second picture above)
4. load the outdooractive (online map) as overlay choose mode "Muliply" and at least 75%, better 100% for opacity. (3. picture)
5. Now you´ll have your Outdooractive map with hike routes form openstreetmap

btw. normally you would load the online map (outdooractive) first and the overlay (map) later, but my way descibred above is the better one.  ;)

Themes - Vector maps / [Theme] Volatile-Bundle

Hello,

Update 2013/05/05

I have changed a few things in my Volatile themes. Now there are 5 Volatile themes.
I made some small updates for the Volatile bundle. There are no significant changes inside the themes, but now you can use the 5 Volatile themes with the Freizeitkarte (<!-- m -->http://www.easyclasspage.de/maps/seite-2.html<!-- m -->) too.

Scroll down for  Volatile-Bundle_V2.zip

I divided the hiking from cycle theme, added the Volatile_OCM and the Volatile_Winter theme.
The Volatile_OCM theme ist inspired by the excellent OpenCycleMap of Andy Allan from <!-- m -->http://opencyclemap.org<!-- m -->.
The winter theme is the "snow covered" hiking theme. But nevertheless you should see the ways. <!-- s:-) -->:-)<!-- s:-) -->
Only in the winter theme are ski pistes included.

You can use original Locus maps (direct download from Locus shop) and (optimized for) kech61s maps from OpenAndroMaps as well. But the layout differs a bit in few points.

Volatile_Winter
Only the winter theme includes ski pistes as you can see below. I made the pistes a bit more visible.

Volatile_Hike
The Volatile hiking theme is inspired by lonvia hiking ways (<!-- m -->http://hiking.waymarkedtrails.org/de/<!-- m -->).

Volatile_Cycle
Includes the cycleways, regional, national and international cycling and mtb trails.

Volatile_OCM
Very similar to the cycle theme but with more "transparency".

Volatile_Pure
This theme is the base (naked) theme without ski pistes or any cycle or hike routes from national or regional cycle or hike networks.
Cycleways and footways are shown of course.

The themes are mostly created and tested with the Galaxy Note 2, so it´s possible, that there are changes necessary for other phones.
Feel free to use them, but I have one request: If you want to have changes or improvements, or you do these changes by yourself, please let me know or offer them in the same way.

Hi folks,

it´s me again.  :)

I added the blue sea, changed the representation of the cycleroutes and added the hiking routes (in the moment only in the Austria hike map)
The theme should work with all maps, but only shows the cycle routes with the great maps from kechi61 (viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1990 or http://www.openandromaps.org). !! Other maps won´t show the routes. !!
If you don´t want to use cycle routes you have either to use "normal" Volatile theme with kechi65 maps or other maps p. e. from jurajs viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1839

Changes
-better recocnition of type of ways if they belong to a cycleroute.
-hiking routes are marked with blocks
-farmland is now light brown
-names of citys and towns are earlier shown (I think)
-blue sea

Thanks to again kech61 for his maps.

Howto: Unzip and do as described in viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1739 (thanks to brotbuexe).

Let me know, if it doesn´t work.
@menion, feel free to put it into Locus shop, but only if it works. :D
