Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.19.+ ( 9/2023 )

@Menion: re. "@michaelbechtold Can't simulate any problem with overlay. What map should I use for testing, is there anywhere available for download?"
My bad - apologies! When trying to find the smallest possible map combination (world plus overlay) for your reproduction, I immediatley came across an overlay that worked perfectly fine on my device. Next step was to check the Europe overlay (highest resolution (png) private version) - which was missing ZL 12 entirely :-((
Hence Locus did fill in the vector base map - as expected.
Filling ZL 12 now into that special map :-)
Cheers
Michael

Quote- or the app may display the cache as a temporary point on the map where this first bottom button will be "+" > so add to own library. Maybe this second is better, right?
Hello menion
this will be a good solution :)
Thanks

as @Menion mentioned we've already created some improvements in the official MapsForge render and adopted "cubic" or text and symbol orientation.
I also like the scale-font or scale-symbol directives but I think it doesn't fit the conception of theme when only the "rule" should specify the appearance of a particular element.

bg-rect-* are also a little bit strange and were created especially for our use-cases. Anyway, I've already thought about adopting of the "Shield" system used by Mapnik https://github.com/mapnik/mapnik/wiki/ShieldSymbolizer
It's basically a combination of image and text - especially used for highway number shields.

In beta 4.19.0.8 the online address and location search does not work on my device.
Same here. Quite annoying to be honest.

I will test something over the next few days.
Thank you
Working on the app is more important than being here in the forum all the time. There are enough people who can help. And if there is an urgent problem, there is always the helpdesk. They have a direct line to you.

Hi,

I don't want to "steal" another's idea, so I'll just point you to the source:

a method that, (at least for Samsung devices) as far as I can tell, enables EVERY file manager to handle Android/data and Android/obb on Android 13, is described here:

https://xdaforums.com/t/cant-access-android-13-android-data-folder.4491183/page-3#posts

Take a look at the post beginning "I bet you are having a really bad day" (or so.)

Additional infos;
-MT Manager can be sideloaded from a site mentioned a few posts further down (#46) (I didn't find it on apkmirror),
-"easily" in the first post means "navigate to Android/data, tap "Property/Modify" and tick the two missing options".
-If, in the Play Store, you have Automatic Updates activated, the app Files (which you can search for by that name in MT Manager in other System languages as well), will be re-updated quickly - don't know if that would create a problem.)

Quote from: Menion on October 11, 2023, 09:30:09Hmm, I may look at the correct path later. Anyway I'm glad it works for you now ;)
I think the behaviour is correct. I have now set up the lnk files to have no path just "legend.pdf" and make sure I zip up the theme without a sub-directory. This then works for both zipped and unzipped usages of the theme.

Quote from: Andrew Heard on September 29, 2023, 00:06:58Is the "reversed mileage marks" related to my suggestion https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/30858-display-distance-markers-in-reverse?
You cannot view this attachment.
Oh, seems so, nice feature! IMO the implementation is perfect. Just reverse, no additional option.

for future reference, I exported my recorded GPX, imported here

https://www.maptoolkit.com/api/map-matching/

and exported the "matched" GPX, imported in Locus and everything is fine :)

Die Erklärung is einfach.

Siehe screenshots:

Hi Menion,

Thank you, good hint.
Locus was optimized, Geo tracker was not. I have changed it and will test it.
I'll be in touch.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.18.+ ( 8/2023 )

Quote from: joeloc on August 21, 2023, 18:00:35The google maps point sharing "fix" now extracts the points name from the funny url and does a new Locus "search" for that. It's unfortunately almost as unusable as before. I now tried it 10 times in real world situations (still being on an endless bike journey). 3/10 times Locus didn't find the point (by name) at all. 5/10 times if "found" something completely different by the same or a similar name, sometimes 100km away. 2/10 times it found the right thing.

Verdict: still an almost complete failure. re-searching in that way is not an option. if you cannot extract proper coordinates from a funny url, we're f*cked forever.

Apparently this "workaround fix app" that people here talk about manages to do it fine though. Too bad it's no longer supported and doesn't install on current Androids without jumping through hoops :-)
You are in the wrong topic. here was written so that it works only with the next version. 4.18.2.2. or 4.19.
