Sorry didn't  see that post.
Yes I use a 6 digit pin. Just read the description of the setting , now notice the "unsecure" wording. Have found a workaround in my  system settings, but it is not ideal.
With the original setting, although the phone would open Locus without the pin. I you try and open any other external app or setting the pin was still required.

First time today that I have used Locus since 3.15.3 update, and I had a problem. I have always had the Disable screen lock setting in Settings > Display selected. This allows me to switch off the display whist walking between caches and goes straight back into the map screen without entering my lock pin every time I press the power button. I have been using this for over a year. Today every time I switched on I had to enter the pin.
On arriving home noticed a new version  so updated it hoping that would solve the problem, but alas no, its still doesn't work as it used to.
Has something changed in the settings?

Even though I got Locus working again with a reinstall  earlier in the day. Thought I would take a leap of faith (after logging my days finds and a backup ) with the update on Play Store.
Menion you may sleep tonight as there were no problems in the update and testing all the functions I use for Geocaching nothing but good results.

Can't wait, my version doesn't crash, you just cannot select anything. Good old Google.

I had this problem, found that the Preference/ Downloading - Basic info only setting  radio button had been checked. Unchecked it and the problem went away.

Looks very useful, the colours stand out  on my phone. The more info I have in the depths of Dartmoor the better.

Themes - Vector maps / Re: [Theme] V-Scale2_Pure

jusc

I noticed something whilst trying out john_percy's new voluntary UK theme . My map was in an area I haven't been for a while  and I was switching themes to compare. When I switched to the V-Scale2_Pure theme it looked like East Cornwall was submerged below sea level when in zoom level  12 -13  upwards using the England map from the Locus Store. When using the Open Android Great Britain map there is no problem (see screenshots), and it seems to be confined to just East Cornwall.

Haven't had much of a chance to try Locus in earnest over the last few months , so armed with my trusty phone,( and reading all the comments on the forum ), off I went.
To be truthful I had not one problem. The centre cross wasn't a big thing, the only thing that I need is an indication to were I am. The blue circle(when stationary)  and the Blue triangle (when moving) are all I need, and hopefully they are staying. I personally don't need a cross to show me the map centre, I can see it on the screen.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Maintenance on own caches
February 01, 2015, 18:25:39
Thanks for your reply balloni55.
I have made a new folder (My Caches)
Opened one of my caches in Geocaching.com and downloaded the GPX file to my phone and inported it into My cache folder.
But when I open the cache and select Log visit, I get only the 5 standard options for users (see attached screenshot)

Edit :- Found the problem, my owner name in the geocaching settings had a space at the end. Once deleted it worked great. Thanks again.

Troubles & Questions / Maintenance on own caches
February 01, 2015, 15:13:44
Normally I do all maintenance on my own caches on my PC, but have noticed (especially posts from balloni55) that it is possible to do this from within Locus. This would be handy as a few caches are away from home location.
I have looked through all the settings of Locus and on the online manual but cannot see how to enable this.
Am I missing something obvious.

Free chat / Email from http://help.locusmap.eu/
November 28, 2014, 13:20:08
I don't know if this is the right place for this, but over the last 2 days I have received quite a few emails from help.locus.eu
Yesterday it was 66 regarding the new pop up  all the same. On clicking to open the page my browser, after a while, came up with a 404 error. This morning  I had 8 more, 5 regarding "delete fieldnote after successful upload" http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/delete-fieldnote-after-successful-upload
and 3 regarding " HR Monitor +training manager add on"      http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/training_manager_add_on.

This time the help desk opened , albeit very slow, but the 3 about HR monitor puzzle me as to why I have recieved them. I have never looked at that subject to my knowedge.

Is there a problem with the help desk? As 66 emails for a topic that only has 29 comments is a bit much, and BTW I still can't get into the Pop Up Topic.

Have tried the test version, and confirm as jusc said, the V scale theme do not work.
And on the new internal hiking theme it is like watching paint dry loading screen when zooming in and out. Also the Elevate themes from openandromaps are now unusable.
On a positive note Voluntary Hike UK theme seems to be work fine.

And my themes don't work anymore
:'(

What?  No V scale.  :( :( :(
Have to give it a try and see what others don't work.
