Under review / Self adjusting zoom
November 25, 2011, 10:53:03
I'm sorry if this is a wish already mentioned, but here it goes:
I like to use my bycicle to go geocaching, and most of the paths I use are not in maps.
I select the geocache and turn on the guide line. My wish is that at this point the map would switch to the best zoom that don't hide my position and the destination. As I'm approaching, the zoom would adjust itself so I can see the best paths at the best resolution. (I use google satelite or hybrid map)

Various & Bin / Dynamic Zoom

Just an ideia:
when Guide is on, the map could change zoom automatically to fit the actual position and the destination in screen in best map resolution. This can be optional.

Various & Bin / Dynamic zoom downloading maps
June 16, 2011, 00:34:57
Hi Menion,
I've been away from forum but using application every day. It's getting better and better for geocaching.
Saved me a lot of dnf's in places where 3G don't work.

I have 1 suggestion:
Can you add one more option for downloading offline maps, which will download with greater zoom around the visible POI's?
The user must draw a rectangle, just it is now in "selected area" option, but in zoom levels the user would select 2 zoom levels (min and max) and the system would download tiles with bigger zoom levels only around the cache zone.
That would make zoom levels with holes... I don't know if that's good in Locus.

Thanks

Declined / POI only loaded when needed
May 02, 2011, 17:52:39
I would be very happy when I see this in Locus:
In map mode, only the POIs that are to be shown should be loaded. It's too slow to use a category with some thousand POI's.
For Geocaching, I think it should have a quick filter system (maybe set in preferences), so I don't see already found, inactive and Waypoints.
Also when I deselect the category and select again, the filter was reset.

Just bought the pro applicattion but I'm having a problem when starting Locus. It shows error: "error communicating with appcenter" and shows "not licensed".
Any suggestion?

Troubles & Questions / Geocaching issues
March 08, 2011, 12:37:39
maybe this should go to the wish list, but I think is something that still makes me don't use Locus for offline Geocaching always:

I made a stress test importing 9300 points (I was really amazed with the speed: took less than one hour) to one category and all operations that involve activity on those points are terrible slow. (showing on map, showing on list, inverting selection, ordering, etc). My suggestion to improve is to automatically  create categories with th country/state fields. When I need to show those points on map I should select only the category I want. I know this is too Geocaching dependant....but it's one of the main utilities for me.

Besides the problem with points with same name remains: How does the system handles overwrite? When it ask if I want to overwrite  and I say yes, I lose the old and when I say no, it doesn't import the new. Is that correct? I can't have both in system?

Thanks,
Joao

Troubles & Questions / Import same file twice
February 03, 2011, 17:48:14
Hi
I have a pocket query that runs every week in geocaching, and is updated with the last geocaches.

I imported to locus last week, and imported the updated this week.
Locus created a duplicate geocache instead of updating the new ones. Shouldn't the old ones be deleted?

One suggestion
The point list should refresh every x sec to show the nearest ones without user interaction.

Implemented / Navigation
January 21, 2011, 13:14:29
Hello.
I think I read all the topics in forum but didn't find anything regarding Road Navigation,
Would it be nice if Locus calls any external application to navigate to a point? (Like c:geo does in Turn by Turn Navigation to a cache)
If it has any way of doing that I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks and keep the excelent work.
