3.27: great release, as usual.
- @menion recall a recent discussion & change in 2 screens to not use auto-display keyboard? One was track export. I notice for Track Folder the keyboard is auto displayed with track name field selected, whereas it is just as likely or more likely the user may want to edit the track style.
- Locus crashed with track slope mode+Arrows #3. Not for many many months has there been a crash. There was big variation of spacing of the arrow icons along track. Some places arrows merged into solid line, other places there was much bigger (and sensible) gap. - Route planner: is incorrectly using direct line at start and end of route. Behavior has changed since 3.26.2.3? I have selected Car for routing. This route is impossible and incorrect. There is no OSM way at the start/ end as drawn. I have attached v1.1 exported GPX. I'll have to use RWGPS route planner until this is fixed.

PS - reopened 3.27.0 which had above track displayed.
Completely frozen. After a few attempts was able to hide this track. Now Locus is usable again.

I appreciate the new track style editor, but can not figure out how to make the pattern transparent to map (as on old version). Was this combination left out? I observe when using a track pattern, as zooming out the pattern prevails more and more over the track colour, but maybe it's a question of habit.

My Locus crashes now when I add POIs from the poidb, no matter which category they are from. It happens when I tap inside a category, eg. "Museum". Germany North map+db from the store.

Hello menion, I meant if the track line can be transparent in places where it's cut off by the pattern, e.g. dotted line will alternate the track paint colour with the map under the line. In versions 3.26- it worked so. Pattern transparency in 3.26.2 vs. 3.27.0:

Map screen freezes. Very repeatable - display track on map, tap on track, return to map, repeat a few times. Android says Locus Map is not responding etc. I have emailed log direct (15MB). Attached is GPX. It seems related to the manual slope track style. I have never seen this before, even in last beta.

hmm thanks. No useful in logs, but I think I was able to simulate this problem. Not sure why this happen, but one small change seems to fixed it, so next version as well ... (probably tomorrow).
Is the track renaming bug fixed? I cannot rename an existing track, no matter if displayed or not. After all, it keeps its old name.

No useful in logs" - that's a shame because it generates huge (15MB) file and was lots of effort (long story) getting it emailed. Is there something I could do better next time? I waited until Locus crash then created the log as quickly as possible.

sorry to hear you had such problems with obtain of logs. It's perfect, just in this case, this method is not useful. There are two common types of problems ... crash and ANR.
Crash is when app really crash and you get dialog with "Application was terminated" (or something like this). In this case, log is useful, because in log is directly information where app crashed (not why).
ANR means "application not responding". This happen when app do too much work on background (longer then 5 seconds). Then you see dialog "Application is not responding" with option "wait" or "close". This should be your case here and log is not useful, because app did not crash, it just do something ... if you leave app for some time, it should start working again.
So thanks for a log, it did not helped for now, but I believe I've found thanks to your information a source of troubles! And now you at least know, how to create useful log (for cases when app "crash"). ;)

Hi, I get extremely slow map rendering with the newest version from Play Store.
Any ideas, what might cause this slowness?
Xperia Z5 Compact, Stock Rom (7.1.1). Locus folder on external SD, but rw enabled.
Btw. the issue with crashing after searching in internal POI db is gone.
Edit: Okay, it was a problem in my configuration and not Locus. Works like a charm now.

Ah wait. I clicked the top left back arrow, because it says "Speichern", i. e. "save" . But it does not,you just escape the window. IMO it is misleading.
It works when I use the save button at the bottom.

Hi Menione, in Beta there is a great way to re-calculate the route by long pressing the profile selection button. This is very good if you want to try different profiles. Would not it be possible to activate this feature in the PRO version?

The new Beta on Android 4.2 and 4.3 can not run. Application fall. After the installation, the dialog box changes, and then the application announces the fall (black rectangle). Android 5 Beta works.

Can confirm that (Galaxy Tab Pro, Android 5.1.1) - "About app/Support" does nothing, all other main menu points seem to be working fine.

And more serious bug which occurs in 3.17.1 Pro and 3.27.1.5 beta: open the attached GPX with Route Planner: silent crash & restart of Locus. This file was originally created with RWGPS. Imported into Locus. GPX is exported from Locus. If more specific instructions useful: display track, tap track on map, select Route Planner, display goes blank, Locus is restarted.

A little bit ... common stupid limitation on 1 MB for transfering content between screens. And this your track is so huge, that it's a little more then 1 MB so app crash. I made a little different, maybe a little faster method, so hope it will be fine in next version. 1 Mb limit is "funny" for me, mainly on devices with 4+ GB or RAM memory :/
Last BETA
After completing the route planner with the arrow, the route still remains in the display for a few more minutes. You can even click on it and choose "part of the route". Tested on three devices. It's just a little bit, but maybe it should not happen.

Po ukončení plánovače tras šipkou, zůstává rozpracovaná trasa ještě několik vtřeřin zobrazena na displeji. Dokonce se na ni dá kliknout a zvolit položku "část trasy". Vyzkoušeno na třech zařízeních. Je to jen drobnost, ale asi by se to dít nemělo.

here my report after a few days of use the new backup function with upload to GD.
- on first start of "edit" setting, the date for next autobackup is set in the past ~ 10 days, i expect the current day ;)
- i set autobackup: every day/ 5:00 in the morning(so i´m sure locus isn´t running)/upload to GD
info, my phone wake up at 6:30 each day, wifi aso.
Stored backups on GD:
28.11. 6:33
29.11. 6:54
30.11. 7:50
1.12. 7:53 > next update set to 2.12. 7:54 inside locus
the set time of next backup change always :-[ independent i set it initially to 5:00

Changed line style of a track in track manager
Saved new settings
Went back to map with already displayed track
...but the map display remains black, no toast, no message. Had to force Locus to close.

@menion - longer tracks are entirely possible and not unreasonable, so maybe there is msgbox saying "This track is too large to edit this track in Route Planner; suggest split and edit each section?"
In 3.27.1 (not Beta) I got a freezing screen/very slow response in the following situation:
Location is on and I have a fix
I am at home on my couch viewing a track about 3000 km's away (the Canary Islands)
I go above zoom level 18
Everything is fine with LOCATION OFF or zoomlevel 18 or smaller
I could repeat this behaviour when viewing a track 1100 km's from my couch but then it happens above zoom level 21.
Android 7 and new device with 6/64 octacore etc etc

after you had changed style of track, what about track preview in track detail screen at top? Does it change as well to your selected style? Did you tap on "save" button at bottom of "change style dialog", not just on back button?

I thought, all similar troubles are already solved, damn. Are you using simple style for your track or some "color by X" style? Does it make difference if you select basic single color style?
@menion: I use a pattern only (with arrows) but going back to a simple Line 6 px without pattern produces exactly the same behaviour. Colouring mode is at plain color anyway.

Yes, this is correct. More complicated task ... "cloud" feature is only "copy" task.
Syncing Backups to Beta at Beta does not work on Android 5.0 tablet.
I tried a new cloud backup feature, but unfortunately I can not get it started. The setting was fine, but none of the upgrades have yet been loaded into the cloud. Android occasionally just buys a message: Locus has ended. Synchronization with external Drive Autosync works seamlessly.
CZ: Synchronizace záloh do cloudu u Bety mi na tabletu s androidem 5.0 nefunguje.
Zkoušel jsem novou funkci k uládání záloh do cloudu, ale bohužel se mi to nedaří zprovoznit. Nastavení proběhlo v pořádku, ale ani jedna záloha se zatím do cloudu nenačetla. Android občas jen vydá hlášku: Aplikace Locus byla ukončena. Synchronizace pomocí externího programu Drive Autosync funguje bez problémů.

if you get "App Locus Map was terminated", please create me a log, thanks! Requirement for upload to cloud is wi-fi connection. Is Locus Map creating local backups? If so, it should be really only a problem with upload.

It's definitely going to be something wifi, so the tablet disconnects from wifi when you turn it off. The backup files are about 60 Mb, so file uploads take quite a while. How do I create a protocol?

As I see in list of news, there is quite a lot of them. On background, I have also updated many dependencies ( libraries from other companies/services ) to new versions, so hope, all will work as expected.
Michal and Hanka pushes me a little because of new version next week, because they wants again as every year, give some Christmas discount and wants some popup dialog in app, so if there will be any serious problem, I'll appreciatte your feedback!

3.27.1.7 on Android 5.1: Analyze Track caused Locus to crash with 200km recorded track. To reproduce:
- tap track from list
- observe it seems to take longer to open track details since last version?
- tap ^
- tap More
- tap Analyze
- track is displayed on map but UI not responsive for ~20s
- when UI finally responds Locus stops with "Locus Map is not responding"
- retest (for this post) and now no crash, grrr
Question re Analyze Track UX: tap on "tick" icon - I see is possible to change track style; I change to +/-5% Manual Slope, but where is this new track style displayed? When I return to the map the track section is lost. It would be great if Analyze Track style could be sticky rather than plain dark blue line.
I then installed 3.27.1.27 on older Android 4.2 tablet: when I try Analyze Track for 1st time the 2 or 3? introductory pages about splitting and merging tracks is displayed which is for Track Editor not Analyze Track. Of course there is only one chance to test this because these "introductory pages" are only displayed once.

I've at least moved "cloud upload" to bottom part, so it looks more like separate function and not a part of "repeat" process.

Beta back up bug on Android 4.4. Even if I turn off automatic backups, new backups are being created. See attached pictures.
With this protocol you're probably right, sorry. I have a lot of jobs now, so I'm trying to do it all the time so it does not work well. I'll make the protocol new, but I'm probably going to get it over the weekend. I am sorry.

S tím protokolem máš nejspíš pravdu, omlouvám se. Mám toho teď v zaměstnání hodně, a tak se vše snažím udělat tak rychle, až to někdy nedopadne dobře. Protokol udělám nový, ale asi se k tomu dostanu až o víkendu. Omlouvám se.

thanks to your report, I've found a serious issue in setup of backup after restart of device. Maybe it will be your case as well.
