Title: Migrating from android to iPhone
Post by: Cory McAlpin on August 06, 2017, 06:04:56
I currently have paid version of locus pro through play store plus a bunch of us maps I bought with locoins. In a couple weeks I am going to be getting a new iPhone.  Is there any way to migrate my paid services over or am i just going to have to buy all over again?

Hi,

I just saw that your new phone is an iPhone.
But .... there is no Locus version for the iPhone and as far as I know there are no plans (http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/locus_app_for_iphone) to develop an iPhone version of Locus.

You may find a (costly) app in the i-Universe, that can deal with Mapsforge maps. But none of them may support the extra features Locus has (Locus *.map and the themes are aligned).
Going into the i-World comes at a price :-)

Simple solution: Keep the Android and continue to use Locus.

As you may know, Locus is very functional even without a data connection.  Load some good offline maps, move the SIM card to the new phone, then consider the Android a handheld GPS unit.

Well crap.... for some reason I would have sworn that locus was available through iPhone too. I have a good condition galaxy s5 that I used to use but in the attempt to simplify I figured using my main phone would mean only 1 battery to recharge lol.  I will go back to using my s5 samsung and just carry my new iPhone for calls and texts lol.
