Title: How to download elevation data?
Post by: peterafonin on September 10, 2016, 19:41:04
Hello,

I had locus free maps when I was downloading first three free maps, so I couldn't download elevation data. Now I have Pro, but how I can add this data now? The guide says:

"elevation data - necessary for terrain shading, route elevation profile rendering etc. It can be downloaded additionally after LoMaps packet download".

But I don't see this option anywhere. How can I do this?

Thank you.

Thank you. Yes, I've read about this, but apparently (I may be wrong) this doesn't download the elevation data for the whole map, so I have to do it for each waypoint. So I've just deleted this map and re-download it, this allowed me to download the elevation data for the whole map.

Good day peterafonin, balloni55,
sorry for complicated system. Your solution is widely used and I'm aware we should offer some function like "download elevation files for current map". I'll think about it.

And give it a separate LoCoin price tag :-)

@michaelbechtold and @joeloc - no need to be quite so cynical and aggressive in some of your posts, we re all ordinary people in this forum, not robots. I don't see need for swear words (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profanity).

Off topic I would say, even after re-reading below post more than once.
100% agreement though that we are no robots.

good idea.
And of course, I would donate for this service...
