Gps Indicator is working now. Was just switching while editing the new top and right panel
ah yes, this is old known issue. I hoped that one change helped on this, but seems not. So suggest just to use long-click on places where you expect buttons, because they are there, just background should not be white :).

Also guys, be careful if Locus correctly compute new values like altitude, speed etc. All values should be correctly interpolated from around values, but just for sure ...

Update to new version removed my current controls in top panel, have to add them back again. It's not a big deal, but it's always a little annoying if you have to redo settings.
Probably you did this so we have to test the new system to set up the controls
And a tiny typo: When opening the new setting "Tracks popup content", the dialog title is "Points popup content". Settings are those for tracks, that's correct, just the title wrong. Somebody copied & pasted ;)

I noticed slightly higher values for computed altitude. Thats what you ask for?

sorry balloni, but I cannot help here. Point of used system called "o-auth" is, that Locus has absolutely no idea what is your username or password. Only what Locus knows is some generated nonsense key called "token", that is used for communications with groundspeak server.
Fact that you do not see any request on name or password on third screenshot, is probably because you checked "keep logged" during previous login, so it is not needed anymore. Try to tap on top button "refresh" (arrows in top right corner). This should help.
And fourth screenshot - "field notes are uploaded succesfully" - damn I again forgot. It's an issue because this feature should be only in Locus Pro :).

Thanks menion, I agree that collapsing is redundant, but the fixed order is not optimal respective to frequency of usage for different map types (scrolling needed so that quick switch is not that quick ;) )
If you consider this worth time (small change I think) I'd appreciate implementing which could look similar like

With mouse or S-Pen (Galaxy Note) it works as shown in the clip. But is this feature useful with a normal phone at all?

Misplacement happens easily, yes. And then you have to pick the point, delet it, or pick and re-place it. Tedious indeed.
I feel this is like crazy religious war between mouse and keyboard shortcust 20 years back. Now we have both - for a good reason. Menion, just get us back the "Add point" - the cose ist still in use - when you re-place :-)

Sure - eidt = re-place in my post. Annoying, as it is an additional step. It usewd to be one step in the past, now you end up with two in many cases.
I do not argue against the new way. I advise to have BOTH ways. So, depending on device and zoom and stylus or not, etc., people can apply the most useful approach.

- one small issue, after i have confirmed cut action with "delete" complete track is invisible :(. I have to zoom in or out to see modified track :)
- little wording issue, action is named "cut part of track" and confirming button is named "delete"
one other issue also in PRO:
- if i create a copy of track "TEST" from trackfolder, the copy is named "TEST"
- if i create a copy of track "TEST" from track preview/arrow up/create copy the copy is named "TEST-copy"
Cut part of track works perfectly to me, track editing has become a killer feature in Locus, i always need to delete part of a recorded trail after a walk in the mountains due to errors, now i can delete all the points in a time instead of one by one

@0709: correct, different sounds for left/right are not implemented for now. Consider this as a first step. Instead of different sounds I think about simplified TTS messages. What you think?
When you set distance on change to 50m, then you may see guiding line to track, which is always at least 50 metres long. And locus notify on changes based on this line. So when you set this line to 200m, then you'll usually get notifications 200 metres before they appear. Does it make sense or is this system useless?
To prevent using generator for compute extra waypoints, use "notify on every trackpoint". This should prevent generating extra navigation waypoints by generator.

My first attempt with new "Guidance" on my jogging tour this afternoon
Settings:
- general device time out 30 sec.
- screen ON/OFF control ON and all options checked
- next wpt notification "text to speech"
action > screen on and TTS info allways 90 m in front of wpt :), eg "turn left"
but while hiking (1,5m/sec) after 45 meter, and while jogging (2,5m/sec) after 75 meter the screen turn off :P
so if i reach the wpt screen is off :o and i didn´t recognize which way "left" i should take, sometimes 2 or 3 ways are possible.
So my idea, start count down for screen off if wpt is reached, so screen is allways on in area of wpt :)
rec widget starts locus pro - so i delete pro - and now...
...widgets are gone.

@gynta: hmm yes, there were issues in English, but mentioned error is probably in german TTS file. Please check it, there should be now changed values %D to %D1 or %D2. In case of german translation, you seems to use %D2 in same as %D1, so there should be in all actions value %D1. I can explain more deeply in TTS topic, if won't be clear why this.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or this is a Locus bug since editing track doesn't seem to me working even in beta neither in stable - I select existing track on map, choose 'Edit on map', move to last waypoint and invoke tool menu - there's command Edit/insert point. Locus offers location picker however after confirming which the new location isn't saved anywhere - last wpt is still last and still in place. Here even it's not clear if the selected location is considered as new waypoint after the last or is new location of last waypoint. Ambiguity?
Btw. now I see the video and the stretch mode seems not present even in beta,Locus still offers only simple (nonworking) location picker

@gynta: sorry I didn't notice the editing mode is present. Editing seems working fine in both beta and stable, however I still can't find the way to insert new points to track - clicking anywhere outside existing track exits the Insert/Edit trackpoint mode immediately (I can only edit or delete existing points). Any hint how inserting new points works please?

You can read minds - great idea !
Planning the details of a 2 week Morocco trip (incl. Atlas mountains), I found a number of missing features in addition (to above insert track), that can easily be fixed:
1) getting from a track point to the chart, with vertical line already put in (the other way round is there - from position in chart you can get to the point on the map easily)
2) Point popup content configuration should also offer "Navigate FROM"
3) Point popup content configuration should also offer "Edit"
You may see that I LOVE "Point popup content configuration" feature as such - users simply need to get more freedom of choices :-)

The issue happens in English voice. So it will happen in all languages. I confirmed once again using dummy en.tts which contains a test word "TTS" everywhere in the file. Please have a look at and listen to a video.
Results are:
- The Voice of "Next waypoint" notification doesn't come from en.tss because Locus doesn't say "TTS" at all.
- The Voice of "Out of track" notification comes from en.tss. You'll hear a lot of "TTS, TTS, TTS...".
- The label texts at waypoints come from en.tts. You'll see "TTS" at the beginning of the labels except "DEST".
- Locus says "make a U turn" just before the destination. Firstly this is simply strange because it's on the straight road. Secondary it indicates that the words come from crowdin text.

Time interval is set 0:30, so i expected all 30 seconds i get info, but the interval after start is 0:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 and so on
Perhaps setting means all 30 seconds after full minute?

Anyway I took recorded track, then started navigation (which in case of recorded track, generated navigation waypoints thanks to nav generator). After that I over navigation menu displayed track and exported it to TCX file.
Re-import: issue with inability to delete waypoints NOT confirmed. For the first time I saw same issue, but after second try, no matter what I do, I'm unable to simulate it, damn. Anyway start guidance/navigation never generates new navigation waypoints - edit: ah, issue on my side found and fixed, thanks! In case, track already contains any, navigation generator is never used (*will be never used since next beta version).

you are welcome. I'm aware of many possible scenarios of usage ... as usually :). But I really think that some more advanced features form Endomondo, Runtastic and other similar apps, do not belongs to Locus. Notification on some values over certain period is from my point of view, ideal feature useful by almost all people, no matter if they wants to train on marathon or not.

Here is a small problem. Delete and edit of points is generally not possible in Locus for temporary tracks! So track generated by "navigation generator" is in this case temporary (not stored in database). If you export this track and re-import into database (not directly on a map), points should be editable.
Question is, make it sense to allow edit and delete waypoints at track for tracks, that will be lost when you close Locus?

I confirmed that "Next waypoint" notification come from tts file now in 3.7.2.3.
However there are issues remained. (confirmed with guidance.gpx attached again below)
- Locus says "after 300m turn around" before the end point "DEST".
- Locus doesn't say about approching to the destination.

After one hours passed, locus talks only hours and minutes. I think there should be seconds, too.
Currently, if time interval is set to 30 sec, Locus talks the same "X hours Y minutes" twice at 0 sec and 30 sec.
Sun was shining, so i started first test of guidance with latest beta.
At first: it works! My dream come true!
Default settings are correct for automatic display activation.
But... the beta is unstable, stopped 1x and another time I got an black screen, did not know how to get rid of it while trailrunning :( But guidance was still active, could hear beeping before the junctions.
The navigational commands are sometimes wrong. Obviously you have to go left but the command is "keep right". See screenshot.
The beeps before arriving the junctions are to early than too late. See comments above.
I will keep trying and maybe I will find another issues. When issues written above are fixed in the next public release we can step on the next stage: simple sounds.
Just now i'm really happy about the new guidance :D
Edit wants to say that i got some ugly errors like "you are not allowed to post in this forum" or "too less memory for thid operation" and others :( If anyone is interested in an admjn for tapatalk plugin....I will do it.

better is: one string for guiding - and one for navigation.

I somehow foresee that this is an intent. ;) My case is middle-range running more than one hour and I want to know time with seconds at every 1.0 km even after 10 km or so. The explanation in my previous post was so bad. sorry.
In any case, please note that no voice at every '0 minutes' is the issue as same as already fixed '0 seconds' issue.

Hello, in new beta, when entering point insert / edit mode, the map zoom resets to 100%. I find this uncomfortable. Can the current zoom stay preserved (choose the behaviout via config.cfg ?)
- conversion to navigation waypoint works good but I notice once I place at least one own navigation instruction, on the other hand I lose all other auto-generated instructions. Can auto-commands still be preserved? On imported track from gpx I still have autocommands.
- once I add my navigation waypoint the navigation trail disappears up to that waypoint when entering navigation mode. I think this is bug. This doesn't happen with track imported from gpx.

Currently we do some UI improvements (images, layout) and I really hope that will end of April, Michal (guy who write it) will be done with core of English part and we will publish it ...
@Bucky kid: My point here was that as least I, personally ofter tap to edit/insert in cases, zoom is really far a way and I then have to zoom a lot to see editing points clearly. So I'll try not to zoom, when you are already +- zoomed.

so after a while i do not remember what i have done :-[

copy + reverse orientation > _copy_rev

Thanks for explaining. The track was created without navigation instructions. I think that on track created in Locus with help of routing Locus keeps list of all tapped points for re-routing (rerouting still works on saved track). If I add own navigation icon on such track, this waypoint should be added to list of pass-through places so that Locus could continue auto-generating navigation commands along all the track (except the points where I add own commands)
Adding navigation waypoints to imported track doesn't have any effect - routing symbol not displayed neithet on track neithet in navigation panel.

Well, 1000s of users have more use cases than a single person can imagine. And only very few participate in discussions and forums - mostly the same crowd since years; I am using and following Locus closely since years ...
The ability to configure context menues was a great move - and it turns "need" discussions into a religious exercise. Let the users - ANY user, outspoken, vocal or not - decide for themselves.

in new version the distance for announcement is set to 100 meter, for biking this distance is ok, but for jogging and hiking announcement is too early.

Furthermore it would be a benefit that next announcement appeares earliest if last navigation wpt is passed.

@balloni55: there is now a smaller difference between guidance and navigation. I'll have to create some, long time requested, "simple notification about left/right", which should improve guidance (to be more "different").
@menion - tracks colouring by distance delta is not much helpful. A mostly hilly track with total 800m uphill elevation is shaded in this coulouring mode mostly in green to blue colours -> confusing because even slightly ascending parts are drawn in green or even blue shade. I suggest to always bind precise green to 0m elevation, so that ascening segments will always draw in scale green -> red and descending segments will always draw in scale green -> blue (user can clearly distinguish segments descent/ascent). Best if the colour tone power should be derived from segment slope (°) and not absolute elevation delta?

When i move with arrow button to this "navigation track point" the navigation icon appeares on 2 trackpoints so it´s not always clear which i have to delete :-[
in my example it is the first in driving direction ;)
on vertical tracklines it´s more difficult to see the trackpoint because label couvers trackpoints

@0709: hmm, currently long click on left/right arrow move map center to first/last point of whole track. This may be changed to what you suggest, so long click should move over waypoints instead. What you think? Is anyway using long-click on these arrows to move to start/end of track?
@gynta: hmm good point. I was thinking about it earlier and wasn't sure what is best solution. Imagine another situation ... you disable (during track recording) training manager or BT HRM device because you do not need it anymore. Later you pause track record due to lunch and after start, Locus again connect all devices and enable training manager ...
Old tts - eh, probably yes. I've did small automatization for crowdin translation files, so they should be always actual. Anyway tts needs to be done still manually, so I sometimes forget :)
en_sample_v1 ... weird. Maybe some automatic backup of Locus Pro may did it, because as I'm checking latest code, it really should be fixed!
I'll try not to forget (which will probably happen :) ) and add this improved move left/right to beta version after update, not now as new version is planned on Saturday.
About updated support for TCX. Names should be fixed and TotalTimeSeconds. "Intensity" - not know for what is is good. And in time were any problem? Have to check it once more ... thanks

I especially observed critical short combinations Navi-instructions.

I do not get your point, sorry.
The "problem" with "overlapping" instructions on short L/R combinations is not new and I now this behavior from pro version.
At the moment Locus gives us two instructions before a turn. At bike speed its around 80m and 20m before turn.
If a following turn occurs within the 80m after the first turn, you get the first instruction for the second turn before the first turn. And Menion is right. With long instructions its "After x metres turn LEFT and then after y metres turn "RIGHT". With short instructions (beeps) its - .. - T .. T T for turn.
Is that your problem?
If we want to prevent that problem, Menion needs to change the instructions, so no instruction for the second next turn before next turn is finished. Is that your proposal? I would support this for bike (short instructions, beep), not for car.
In the other thread (Navigation generator) we found out, that navigation mode is more suitable for mtb than guiding mode.
We only need strict order for the waypoints. Menion implements that as an option to navigation mode now (thanks again). So we mtb guys will definitly use navigation mode now.
And I testes this "new" bike navigation mode. Here are my findings:
1. Strictly waypoints is really strict ;-). If you don't reach a point, due to unprecise GPS track or bad GPS reception, Locus sticks to the waypoint behind you, although you are going on with the track. In this moments you have to go to next waypoint manually. I see the problem: On the one hand it should be strict, on the other hand intelligent enough to take the next suitable waypoint if you "miss" one. Difficult. Is there a good solution Menion?
2. The modification of screen on/off is not really much better than before. Like I understand Menion, its still "time based". Whenever something goes wrong in timing from first instruction (screen on) to turn, the display is off before the turn. This happens with change of speed and also when you stop before a crossing. Maybe its typical for bike groups, but at 30% of all crossing there is a waiting time before turns. In these cases the screen is off when you want to go on with the track.
Is there a opportunity to make the screen on/off position dependend?
3. I assume the errors (no blue dots, no voice instruction) with manually added instructions will be solved in next versions.
Over all my great thanks to Menion. Its definitely going in the right direction and its fun to test and to help to make it better. I wish I could help you in programming, but I can't.

Best what you and others may do, is "simple" testing, exactly as you do now! Even if you know programming for Android, I'm creating Locus itself as closed software. Because of time I invest to developing, I think that two regular devs will have same speed as myself ;). So no worry about help in programming ...
@0709: then I understand you correctly, I just had no idea, this happen in 3.7.1. Interesting, because what happen in older Locus Pro is definitely not correct!! What happen now in Beta is correct, because that's how it should work since begin and it's how it works for me also. It's exactly as I wrote here http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=4467.msg36208#msg36208 .
I personally think, that your custom morse code voice, should be replaced by some internal system in Locus that should be better optimized for this use-case. Have to think more about it during next weeks ...
Ah "only when imported TCX", here is the key! There was more problems with imported TCX during navigation. It's nicely visible on your video ... do you see pink fat line that should run right before the arrow, but that is somewhere far away? This is how Locus incorrectly computed some parameters. All is not fixed and in next public version, this fat line should be ok in all situations ... well, and this double notification as well, sorry. So what happen to you in latest BETA is really intent and fact, that it was not working like that in old Locus Pro, was an issue.

Because not to use it more makes no sense, does it?

"...Locus should not switch to incorrect track in navigation mode", means Locus will not switch to wrong track part at my 8 track although "strict" is deactivated? Since when? What else was changed?

PS.: What do I have to do to get Voice/beep instructions in simulation mode like in the videos? In Pro and Beta I can "simulate" when GPS is off, but I do not get any voice/beep instructions.
