Hello, a question about missing fill elevation data dialog - assume srtm data are always used now when available. Are elevations from SRTM at least as accurate as online data? I was always preferring fetching the elevations from Google.

@Bucky Kid: I hope it is. Maybe Google has more precise data, but differences should not be huge. But to be true, I didn't to any tests. For basic hike&bike, I assume, these values will be enough. But feel free to do some tests and inform us ;). Anyway this step was longly planned and really needed. Simplification. And as a small bonus, if you download any vector map in Locus store, Locus offer you option to download all required HGT files that cover downloaded map, at once.
@Diddi: sorry, don't understand. Locus allow only one popup at once, no more. May you write better step by step how to achive your problem, or maybe some screenshots may help. Thanks

Confirm multiple popups. Under new popup there is still the old one (known from former versions). If you choose a new point the new popup appears but the old one remains. See screenshot.
So I guess the old system is still active in code..

Thanks for describing where to found.But I thought it would be possible to define the things to be seen on the popup - like hint / navigate and so on.
Bit we can "just" choose to see the new or old one. But it's enough for me. I had just misundertood one sentence :)

@Diddi, @Christian: ah you mean old popups and these new. Yes, then it's correct. Old popups remained as were before 3.4.0 plus now appear also new popups. My idea is to completely remove the old once, so for now, both stay in Locus so it's possible test how it works and how it should work.

Our language? ??? Already second number is missing, thats the same as in Czech and English, orrrrrrrr? :P ;D
He he, german language is one of the sparing language in the world, in ranking directly behind Suaheli.
Menion should create the GUI in german and than translate into Czech and English.

Hi, I don't see a couple features that were in test versions before the 3.4 release
- the ability to go from map screen to track info and from there to the original track list.
- the minor change to the laps screen that allowed that screen on a small device to not change the top of the screen to a drop down list of previous screens (info, chart, etc).
Did you decide to leave them out?

New BETA 3.4.0.1, main changes:
- completely new themes for vector maps
- new widgets for track record. Test it, try it and help me decide what is missing and opposite, what should not be

@aberfoyle: next to track folder is a small arrow that leads to track list. Problem with drop down list cannot be simply solved. If you see, it's how Android did it by itself, I have almost no control over it.

I´ll copy a bundle (zip) to dropbox (users/jusc). please extract the content to themes directory where you should have 4 directories more. The "Pure" theme works, the other with cycle or hike networks are always loading.

Have tried the test version, and confirm as jusc said, the V scale theme do not work.
And on the new internal hiking theme it is like watching paint dry loading screen when zooming in and out. Also the Elevate themes from openandromaps are now unusable.
On a positive note Voluntary Hike UK theme seems to be work fine.
internal themes are not available for update anywhere! They are included inside of Locus. And if any other themes are not working, then I'll fix it to next version. There will be any problem in parsing XML file, that's all.

Yes confirmed.
Roads are pure visible in higher zoom levels. (VScale2 themes)

I just wanted to post a screenshot, but balloni beat me to it.
It looks similar on my device, but with deactivated GPS the last smiley is also small (also not as small as the last one with activated gps - that one is tiny).
I´d personally prefer to also see 5 last logs even with activated GPS, I wouldn´t mind if the smiley were half only half as big as now to make them fit.
Is the show / hide (from a cache-popup) supposed to hide the cache itself or should it show the waypoints?
P.s. I have finally upgraded to a custom Rom and am now on Android 4.4 :-) So no more Andoid 2.x related issues.
@gynta: thanks for report. Almost all should be fixed. Tell me please on which device you see widget as 4x2?
@eldron: "hide" server for hiding of point itself. If cache has waypoints, there should be "show/hide all waypoints" button. About "log cache" button - for now not. You may place it to one of two quick buttons to cache screen, which is also quite fast I believe.
@ta-ka: this one is hard. I've improved system a lot now, but seems it's still not perfect. Even in older versions it wasn't always perfect. With new options and popups, it became even a worst. Anyway .. next Beta will be hopefully better.
@john_percy: improvements in MapsForge has also a negative side effects. Thanks, fixed

On SGS2 with Android 4.0.4 I saw at first only a few vector maps.
It seems the default is set to intelligent choice and not to "Provider". At first time a bit strange at least for me. :) Perhaps you should change "Provider" to "All (vector) maps"?
The same in online maps (menu), but there "all providers" should be correct.

I've tested 3.4.0.4 and confirmed in edit mode that popup appears and no more focus lost.
You said it's hard and worst but you've managed very well, even in short time. Amazing :)

@gynta: thanks, I though that problem is in real sizes. If issue is only then widget named 42 has size 4x1, then it's OK, it was only "working name". Little bit weird is size 2x1, but if even a 2x1 widget looks ok, then - why not.
@jusc: you are right, "All maps" or something like this sounds better.
@0709: ah thanks, I'll check 2.x devices on simulator. There anyway won't be any popup. Locus on these older devices only display a track screen.
@ta-ka: I know about some small side effects that are now little bit complicated to solve. Anyway if it works fine you, then I'm happy :)
@balloni55: yes, there was a small change so it was needed to re-add them to screen. Blue circle around pause is quite a problem now. Buttons in Locus are my own, and it is not possible to use same buttons also in widgets. So I have to solve it in other way. And thanks for duplicate "Add new profile" button - fixed.
@Christian: I'm worried, it will be little bit complicated, but I did a small change, so we will see.
About popups out of screen - I happen to me also when I tap too close to border. Minor issue that happen, because I do not want to scroll with tapped place too far away and I also do not know exact size of this popup in moment, scroll starts.

Idea: instead of scrolling / moving map and track, let jump the popup. The white arrow of the popup on top can change its position to the left or right corner of the popup when the tapped place is in the outer quarters of the display.
Its only a beauty treatment.
If nobody has headache due to this you can ignore my objection.

Unfortunately even after two hours of searching, I'm unable to find a reason, why this happen.
Is there possibility to test this map on some application that use older official V3 version of MapsForge library (so same as creates base of Locus)?
I just noticed that focus to track is lost when left/right button of the track edit mode is tapped after returning from track point's info screen.
Track edit mode > Track point's info (2nd button) > Back > Track point's left/right button
The focus lost doesn't happen after returning from track's info screen (1st button). So I optimistically think that it's easy to improve. Please confirm.

I'm afraid I don't know what application fits the bill. The map displays OK on Emux's Atlas & Cruiser.

I have tested an older map of GB with an older version of your Voluntary Hike theme. This works for me, no missing road pieces. But in this case the city names are much smaller.
@jusc: It's not related to the theme or the size of the town names - all themes have the same missing road segments at these zooms on this particular map. The Wales map from the Locus store behaves OK, but not the current OpenAndroMaps UK one. Christian says it happens with other maps as well, so it's a "known bug".
Ok, I have downloaded the latest GB map from OpenAndroMaps and can reproduce the problem. But is it really a bug of Locus, if older maps work?

@jusc: I think, that something has change in format of mapsforge maps with their latest release. Something that do not break compatibility with older format, but that Locus is not able to recognize correctly. Unfortunately this is quite complicated to solve for now as in MapsForge was quite a lot of changes and their library in Locus is also from big part overwrote (even a reading from files has changed little bit). So information that currently interest me, is that these new maps works correctly in old MapsForge library.
At the moment I don´t know how I can test it.
The OpenAndroMaps are rendered with Mapsforge version 3 as I know. And it´s strange, that only two zoom levels are not working with very few tiles.

Nope the SGTab10.1 (4.0.4) is absolutely untouched - no modifications or special apps.

The OpenAndroMaps are rendered with Mapsforge version 3 as I know. And it´s strange, that only two zoom levels are not working with very few tiles.
The newest maps are using a new snapshot, which improves map writing speed and solves problems with huge polygons. See here:

@gynta: I wasn't able to find a real reason, why widget on your tablet has only 2 columns, interesting. For now, I'll leave it. We will see how many people will have this problem and in worst case, I'll create some testing version with more widgets. Unfortunately every device manufacturer who modify original stock home screen, improve also sizing of widgets ...
Problem with problematic tiles on vector maps will be on long evening(s). Seems that it's not related to new mapsWriter. Our new generated maps has a same problem, interesting (we use really old version of MapWriter and definitely not the new one).

Settings/Map objects&style/Show labels(Tracks) "always" or "on hover" there is no label visible at start- or endpoint :-[

About "not visible label" - interesting, for me it works. I'm trying to check some possible combinations with "on click" action and icon style, but all works. Hmm. Did you tried some other settings with same result?

2. Map preview in list of tracks is not visible, although in track details map is loaded. In old tracks stored map preview work. Perhaps it depend on "new Vectormap" i have downloaded yesterday.

- display widget in foreground, locus run furthermore in background.
- now it is not possible to get locus in foreground with click on locus icon on widget

start dropbox - disconnect and try it again.

issue #77 - I'm unable to keep dialog visible even after rotate, but now will at least Locus store your settings before rotate.
track labels - Hmm thanks - I've simplified labels settings. It's now required to directly tap on a track to display track labels (or start "edit mode"). So now will be in settings only a settings for choose, what happen when you tap on a track and settings if you want to see a permanent label on start point with options no / simple / complex.
transparent maps in overview - I found it too, thanks. It was caused by new effect that happen when tiles are drawn. Anyway fixed, thanks.
dropbox - as gynta suggested, please try it
widget - interesting. I know that such problem was there, but at least for me, all works correctly. Latest BETA 3.4.0.5? May you try to remove and add again the widget? Thanks

At first moment i try to add widget again, i can´t find them..... the naming of new widgets has changed and so they apeare 2 pages later in widgetfolder, i think this is not comfortable for user. All widgets should start with "locus" in naming.
