Hello menion
thanks for new version :D
QuoteDuring my tests i have noticed, that the stored picture in "locus/data/photo_poi" is not deleted when i delete the poi.
The pictures are not deleted anymore after i delete the poi
unfortunately this behavior still exist :(
I'm so glad that the map dancing bug is gone, thanks for the hard work.
@balloni: you're welcome. I know about "problem" with images. I'm still not sure how to simply solve it (because I don't want to delete image if is needed in different point)
@bucky: problem found yesterday, so I was finally able to release version ;)
Locus causes so much joy to me, thanks for improving it all the time. I am happy to see the improvements because the app is becoming more beautiful, and more feature rich even if I cannot imagine any further improvements. Other than that if it weren't for Locus I would not have started geocaching and had I not started geocaching I would not have become fond of hiking. Thanks for the many happy moments and experiences and positive impact on my life and providing my phone with the most valuable app of all.
oh it's very nice szebenyib :) thank you too, because without such happy users, our work has no sense

The geocache waypoint importing with GPX has changed (is broken :( )
If a geocache has more than one waypoint, the first is included with the cache, the rest are imported as separate waypoints without a link to the actual geocache.
A shortened version of the GPX is included and a photo attached.
This has worked on previous versions "forever"!

I'm sorry if I've been lazy testing ::) . But Locus has worked so well for me and for geocaching, that the recent changes are mostly indifferent for me.
Hello !
I have tested the new version with a file MBT of 5,3 Go : Locus is now abble to open this size.
Great job. Thanks.
QuoteSelecting more files is wired, after klick on threedot button/select the download window apeares.
why we have different funktion of the "threedotbuttons" ?
(http://s12.postimg.org/l371cu2tl/Auswahl.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/l371cu2tl/)
I didn't look up here for a couple of week but i tought, that someone would catch that problem..
There are two probs due to new file management which causes a little unconvenience ;)
1st : tab selection of "map space" called "visible tabs":
Every time I want to deselect an unneccesary tab the selector disappears and must be newly called.
2nd: Changing a Theme/style causes the lost of the card, the proggie locates the 1st map in listed directory.
- I do use mapsforge vector maps only
- I do not use locus' preferred dir but a dir of my own, it's not included in own maps but in vector maps
For my 1st map in this dir is FaroerIslands Locus chooses FaroerIslands every time I change the theme
@balloni: ability to delete also photo as you suggested added. Anyway problem still remain in case, you delete more files at once for example in Points folder. This is quite complicated task for now. If I do it in same way as now, it will slow down deleting a lot, because I need to completely load whole point from database to check if there are any attached photos ... but partial solution is complete
"select" button in file browser removed - it's confusing and not needed because it has same function as direct tap on item in list
@stebu: import probably fixed.
@bianchifan
1) because hiding of tabs is feature, that I believe you don't use too much often, I think it's not a problem.
2) I'm unable to simulate it, but you have probably enabled auto-loading and locus is trying to automatically load best map. Anyway you still should see whole screen covered with map aren't you?
The POI´s/geocaches are not fixed to the map, they glide away while moving map
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7lqzbollm2xoxou/video_1.mp4 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/7lqzbollm2xoxou/video_1.mp4)
ah damn. I also received one same report over email and was confused why this. Video is answer - map rotation. Damn, it's too serious problem, so I'll have to release new version during a weekend. So everything you or others will want fix, write me ...
In the file browser, the year number is shown by 2-digits('13') instead of 4-digits('2013') if system language is set to other than English(UK). Could you modify to show 4-digits year for all languages?
hmm for this I have to change formatting from 'short' (it's now - looks like "9/11/13, 15:04") to 'medium', that looks like Sep 11, 2013, 15:04 - I hope this will not be a problem, so done
Thanks for the quick improvement. I hope the 'medium' format will not be a problem for everyone.
Could you please tell me how the format looks in the case of Japanese language?
If it looks something like this ('9月 11, 2013'), it is very bad format and should be avoided.
I hope you find the format like this ('2013/9/11').
it looks like on screenshot, possible? (hope I correctly choose Japanese in settings)
(http://s23.postimg.org/yppe801yf/device_2013_10_31_162320.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/yppe801yf/)
btw. "Dropbox" is just "Dropbox" or should I put it also to crowdin?
The year/date format is perfect. Thank you very much! :)
And the 'Dropbox' is good expression for Japanese. Thanks.
By the way, about crowdin, "notify_next_point_desc" seems missing. Instead, the old "pref_guiding_track_notify_on_next_point" is used for the description of the "notify_next_point".
I noticed a strange bug when exporting to Dropbox. If the export path is Dropbox and the export type is KML/KMZ, you cannot uncheck the "Pack as KMZ" option. However, if you switch the export path to local, you can uncheck the "Pack as KMZ" option as expected.
it is not a bug. I just force you to export only as KMZ format, not just KML. In KMZ are packet all images, data, attachments in one file and this is the reason
Thanks menion. Unfortunately this is a huge limitation for my desired use. I'd really like to be able to export a KML file to my Dropbox folder, so it can be utilized in a live web map. Most web mapping API's are JavaScript-based and cannot unpack/parse the zipped KMZ format. Any hope you might be able to re-activate this feature for Dropbox exports? Please and thank you :)
Hi Menion!
I already reported this problem earlier with a download http-link directly to Dropbox.
In this version downloading a zipped file "new40.zip" will show in the cancel/import prompt top line
"Import 96ae9fba.zip".
I would prefer tho original file name!
Hi All
I'm using Locus for a couple of month since now and I'm very happy with it.
I like a lot the navigation feature because I can plan my bike rides around my town very carefully and the follow them just pumping on pedals!
I noticed a problem wit the last versions of locus (both pro and free). I cannot save tracks with navigation instructions attached if longer than few kilometres: the app crash without saving. I could plan 100+ km tracks until the end of September so I think until version 2.14. I'm using a GS2 with android 4.1.2. and tha crash happens with Mapquest source of navigation. How I can help more? I saw that catlog does not work any more with my non rooted device.
thank you for your work!

@brymcbride: I'm sorry, but I do not have now any simple solution. packing to KMZ is required due to ability to export a lot more then just simple file, so till I find any working solution, "Pack to KMZ" will be required
@stebu: uff, hard task but probably done
@matmas: I'm sorry for that, but as gynta wrote, log is needed in this case because I'm unable to simulate your problem on my device
In 2.16.0.11, when I change from a raster map with an odd zoom (eg level 11 / 120%) to a vector map, Locus does not refresh the display. The map screen stays ALL WHITE. The new vector map is only loaded after another manual zoom (eg to level 10 or 12).
That is a new bug in 2.16.0.X, I cannot remember this happening before.
there is already a 2.17.0 version where this problem is fixed

Ok cool... didnt see that in the changes text. Looking forward to a new test version then, using market stuff is too cumbersome :-).
BTW, while playing around with scrolling maps, I just managed to get Locus into a state where it busyloops one core. CPU usages stays at a constant 25%/1600MHz when Locus screen is in front, even without doing anything. No idea what caused that. But I guess I should try to reproduce it with a 2.17 version before digging deeper...
@menion: Understood. I can always manually upload the KML to Dropbox or use FolderSync to automate. Thanks for responding and thanks again for such a great app!
I would like to thank for 2.17.0. Especially for the line arrows (personal desire) and for brouter. Yesterday tested with a short distance. ...works fine as expected. Computing longer distance ends up in a time out.
But nevertheless.... good work!
Great App!

@menion: Any chance you could offer the option for CSV export to include a header row with field names? This would be a nice lightweight format to sync over Dropbox. Thanks!
@joeloc: if you find reason, I'll gladly fix it ...
@christian: I had similar problem with longer tracks - now it's on BRouter developer to improve this
@brymcbride: hmm I'm checking code and there already is first row with header ... it do not appear in your export?
Quote from: menion on November 02, 2013, 07:16:10

Menion, did you consider this parameter in the interface:
"maxRunningTime"-->String with a number of seconds for the routing timeout, default = 60
I do not changed this parameter. I think even a 60 seconds is too much for offline routing. Anyway I can set it on higher value if you consider, it will be a temporary solution
@menion: I can confirm CSV exports for points do not have header rows, while CSV exports for tracks do have header rows (see attached export files). Tested on an LG Optimus F3 running Android 4.1.2. Anyone else confirm the same results?
ah you're correct, fixed thanks
Hello, I still see some small annoying UI bugs when working with waypoints (editing) - 1. After edit in waypoints manager the list is not refreshed after saving new wpt details
2. When I edit wpt directly on map, the map seems to disappear. I need to reopen the map to show again. Observed on personal map in zoom 19 in OruxMaps format.
Sent from LT22i using Tapatalk
@Bucky Kid: I can confirm #1, but cannot reproduce #2. I don't have any OruxMaps to teat, but does not seem to happen with MBTiles maps.
Ok I'll test yet if that's issue of Orux format, specific zoom or generally of any personal maps
Edit: I reproduce this bug on these conditions:
Personal map in OruxMaps format zoom 18, magnify 100%
Click wpt, choose edit, change position by selecting new coordinates from map, change, save
Now the view is set to maximum available zoom layer and magnified to 6400% and map not rendered.
Map rendering is restored only after reopening map or magnifyimg out to senseful level and
changing to previous zoom level.
Hello menion,
problem reported here (http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3488.msg24743#msg24743) (reply #14 and #15) still exists in version 2.17.1.
c.s.g.
really?? it's not possible. This is the reason, why I released new version!!
Hello menion,
(1) Import geocaches to a folder without showing them on map.
(2) Select first 50 to show on map, order by distance.
(3) Show one of these geocaches on map.
(4) Everything is ok.
(5) Select first 200 caches to show on map, still order by distance.
(6) Show one of these caches on map.
(7) Scroll map.
(8 ) Locus pro 2.17.1 works like described in reply #14.
c.s.g.
I did exactly every step you describe, rather twice on one device and also again on Free version on different device and it works fine for me. May you also check twice, you have version 2.17.1?? Also anyone else with same problem?
Hello menion,
Locus World --> Information says "Version 2.17.1"
Tab "News" shown latest news of 03.11.2013
I installed Locus in "/storrage/extSDCard/Locus/".
Could this be the problem?
In other words:
Is it possible, that I only think using version 2.17.1. In reality i am still using 2.17.0?
c.s.g.
nono it's not possible :)
What exactly is your problem? Because in #response14 , problem was only during rotation of screen + scrolling. Same problem in your case?
Hmm this will be complicated. Do you have on map anything else except these points? Also which map as background you use? Please try this also on any online map (Mapquest for example) if you use any personal map, thank you for help!
Hello menion,
i probably found it.
When i set "Einstellungen" --> "Karten - Objekte & Darstellung --> POI Gruppierung aktivieren" the problem occurs.
When i did not set this option, everything works ok.
Sorry, i have only the german menuitennames present.
c.s.g.
ah damn, I knew I should rather do only a map viewer without any other features. Thank you, this is the point.
No matter how long I will test it, there is always any combination I miss ... so to all: do not use POI grouping. Thank you c.s.g. and sorry to all. Hope that huge speed benefit, you gain mainly for pinch zoom (mainly if more points/tracks is on map) will compensate this problem enough

Map downloads never terminate here. All tiles are received ok, then Locus says "Bearbeitung läuft..." and then it stops somewhere in the middle and does not continue. CPU is idle. The window stays open forever.
I can close the window manually with the top right X button. The maps is fine and works nicely afterwards.
The "POI gliding away during scroll" bug is not related to POI grouping here. They always glide away, regardless of the POI grouping setting. Only the description text glides, NOT the POI icon! Obviously, you can only see it when you have description texts always enabled (not just when marking).
Thats a massive problem and messes up everything during every scroll operation. I dont think this version should stay on playstore for long :)
I'm glad :D to report that both my problems have been fixed:
- multiple geocache waypoints are now all included in the geacache
- importing from Dropbox now shows the original .zip name
I can confirm that POIs glide around with POI grouping. :-[
Map rotation (on/off) does not affect this.
The POI groups stay in one place on the map, the ungrouped POIs glide around as if a greater zoom level was applied for them?

Weather - confirmed, thanks, fixed
Ivona TTS - tested and works fine for me. Are you able to set it and test it in settings?
IVONA working ok in Android 2.3.6 (Motorola XT320). Not working in Nexus 7 2013 (Android 4.3).
I am testing it on Nexus 7 2013 (A4.3). Please try to set it again. Some TomTom voice or other TTS Engine works for you?

I love test versions. Go for it :)
Hi menion,
in addition to my reported OruxMaps issues with waypoint editing these are another two slight problems of OruxMaps handling:
1) There's a scenario when I change from another format to Orux and previously displayed waypoints won't show.
2) Weak parsing of calibration (.otrk2.xml) files. If order of elements change, the map is loaded wrong way (especially when <CalibrationPoints> array preceeding MapName/MapDimensions/MapChunks/MapName elements. Orux native app can handle this disorder. If that;'s not too difficult I would appreciate if this could be fixed (probably parse complete otrk2 file first?)
A suggestion for navigation mode: if guiding is used when too far from route, it should be more logical if same navigation audio settings are used for guiding too (especially mute state)
New issue in 2.17.1?
1. When guiding to a point the menu (with the black background) pops under the Point Info Screen and therefore the menu items are not selectable. This is only on Portrait Mode.
See image whre the red arrow indicates the border of the "pop under".
(http://s9.postimg.org/uryi1e9l7/guide_on_point_black_menu_not_visible.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/uryi1e9l7/)
2. When short tapping on an item in the tracks (or points) list, I get the info pop up and I can choose guiding or navigate. But if I did not before set the Checkbox for the track, the track will not show. Please, when I do guiding show always show the track!
2a. In the Quick switch options why is the switch for killing notification sound on guiding taken out? I always use this one when guiding and going through public area's.
3. Praise. I love the usefullnes of the landscape track list now! Especially with long track names. And the long press on the guiding button (top left) ending the guiding is very nice too.
Sorry for not testing earlier. I was way too busy.
so test version is here. I hope that all problems related to points/labels etc. should be fixed now
@Bucky: we already discuss this on other place, so try it please and let me know if any problem remain
@Henk: problem 1. will be worst. I'm suprised it works in this way on your device. Generally it works in this way on all devices, but I hacked it a little and I hoped it will solve it. Hmm ... I'll think about it. Till then I suggest to load for example address to this point. It will help ;)
2. solved
2a. because I now do not have icons for these notification types
3. nice :)
Thanks for new version.
In version 2.17.1.1 , Weather and IVONA working ok.
perfect, thanks for confirmation
2.17.1.1
1. Still, im landscape no problem. With address in portrait no problem, as after "long press" on map screen loads address and then "guide to ". Easier for me to switch to landscape.
2. Solved. This Free Test version did not load my preferences but anyway.

Hello KaHeMu. Thanks for reply.
I've tried again and I found my stupid mistake. I didn't tap 'First 50 Points' label.
The reason was that the number of points in my folder was less than 100.
So, only 'First 50 Points' label appeared and I was just waiting without tapping it... :P
Thanks again and sorry for that.
@henk:
1) currently I have no idea what to do with it, sorry. But I'm sure, soon or later, some solution appear
2a) I've solved it ... you'll see. Problem is not one icon, but fact, that now exists 6! separate settings for notification
@Bucky kid: ah you were correct. Hope also solved now
@ta-ka: :)
I have no idea whats going on, but the latest 3 or 4 testing versions (including the very latest) totally fail to turn on the GPS. They say "GPS activated" but I cannot see an icon in the title bar and Locus does not find any position. Also, if I go to the GPS Screen in Locus and play with turning on/off GPS, Locus acts as if it would turn it on/off. But it never finds any sattelites. Not a single one.
Latest Locus Pro from market and all other GPS apps work flawlessly.
I am quite clueless really. Maybe a hidden setting somewhere in the vast depths of LocusUImess that can cause the described behaviour? GPS-Auto-Off is off, that much I checked.
Ok... please forgive my stupidity and ignore my mumbling. It was "Privacy Guard" who killed Locus. All is fine now, even the POIs stay where they should. Thanks menion :-).

I am quite clueless really. Maybe a hidden setting somewhere in the vast depths of LocusUImess that can cause the described behaviour? GPS-Auto-Off is off, that much I checked.
no problem, I'm glad it works and that you like Locus settings ;)
@menion: I'm not sure what the status of the Get Satisfaction forum is, but I posted this a while back about integrating Locus with Memento Database for custom data collection: https://getsatisfaction.com/locus/topics/integration_with_memento_database_for_custom_data_collection. Any thoughts on if this might be a worthwhile Co-app or how difficult it might be to implement? Thanks!

"6.11.2013 - Locus 2.17.1.1, changes - a lot of small fixes"
Haha, small fixes: you changed to rotating map in navigation mode, you added "snap to track".
Thats awesome.
When you changed "display activation" behavior and the distance problems with notifications its nearly perfect for MTB navigation.
I will test it this afternoon.
Thanks alot
Hello
Test Report:
Locus 2.17.1.1, "offroad route" created with Mapquest by foot, Control on/off screen activated, Settings->navigation->Invalid distance 30m; "out of track" notification 30m beep; snap to track deactivated.
No snap to track and rotating map works great with navigation mode, very good. The two cursors (Navigation and normal) at the same time is also ok for me.
"Out of track":
When you leave the navigation route, I got the beep like I set it up and the navigation switches to guidance with an arrow line coming up heading back to a point on the navigation route.
Question: Which point is selected by the guidance arrow? Its not the nearest point back to the navigation route, but it should be the point with the shortest distance back to the route. BTW: The "automatic display on" is now also been activated by the "out of track" beep, very nice.
What happens is, if you not reach the point back on the route, because you come back to the route "after" that point, locus does not go back out of the guidance mode to navigation mode again. it beeps and beeps and beeps.
If you cross the point after being "out of track", than it switches back to navigation mode again, like it should be.
Navigation notifications, still strange: 300m before - too much for MTB; than 5m before without distance - too late; right during turning - senseless. I think you have that already on your list.
Thanks for your quick response on our suggestions.
Bye
I can still make Locus force-quit and die by enabling a few (15 or so) multi-thousand point tracks and zooming around on the map, mostly when I am zooming in "too close". You are probably going to tell me that is my fault for using tracks with 8000 points each. And I will then most likely reply that I do not what I get when I download stuff from the internet. I just click on a zip and import it to Locus and display it on the map. Scrolling is still quite nicely with those monsters, zooming is mostly unusable and tends to crash.
No idea what the best practice is to handle "monster tracks", but they are a reality "out there". And when you just click on links in tour portals, you dont even know that you are going to import 50k points.
It is quite an undertaking to make that stuff "usable" in Locus. Like export every track manually, upload to gpsvisualizer.com, do a point reduction, download again, import again, delete original, etc.
Maybe it would be good if Locus had its own point reduction function? You could offer it manually as a menu item in track manager and you could allow configuring a MAX NUMBER OF POINTS PER TRACK ON IMPORT. The latter would protect your users from messing up their databases and usability by accidently importing monster-tracks.

And the long press on the guiding button (top left) ending the guiding is very nice too.
I disagree. It might be useful for a few supergeeks who have been "breathing" Locus for years. But "features" like this are what makes most others think that Locus has a complex and difficult user interface. A button that SIMPLY DISAPPEARS on long click?! That is unheard of in Android land and against every user interface rule ever invented.
All buttons on Locus map screen, regardless if they are within toolbars or whatever else, should behave equally. They look equal, so make them behave equal! Single tap for an immediate "action" and long tap for an additional menu with more options. Everything else is simply confusing and requires extra documentation that nobody reads anyway. And nobody would have to, if all buttons behaved predictably and logically.

This was not the best example. For the community of users who use Locus mostly for geocaching this is a crucial function - geocachers keep guiding to a cache and this long press is a good shortcut and a big asset. On the other hand I can understand your idea that the GUI should use a limited "library" of actions so that handling can be consistent and comprehensible. To tell the truth it had taken me rather long time before I found this possibility in Locus. Long press of a similar "button" also used to finish navigation but (inconsistently) this feature has been cancelled a few versions of Locus ago.
BTW it might be just a coincidence but the weather service (the symbol of the sun) does not work for me in 2.17.X - it does not bring any forecast.

Hi joeloc,
preparing for a long hike next year I have to manage a lot of tracks from gpsies.com and others just as self generated tracks with brouter. The most important from them I added to a whole track with about 55.000 points, 2200 kms. Handling all the tracks at once (66 tracks, ca. 100.000 points) is very slow, but there wasn't any crash with the tablet.
Maybe it is a matter of performance of the device?

"Snap to track" - I forget to mention.
it's a new settings in "Navigation" settings, that allow to keep navigation (orders etc.) but see on map your exact location and rotation define by device compass and not by track itself.

Or maybe some OSM online map thats always available? Most new users will only have seen google maps before and expect to zoom in to street level. If that only produces pixel trash in default Locus, they might throw it away immediately.
Here's yet another bug I found: new dashboards on some conditions don't show anything (regardless which one I choose). After restarting Locus it's OK.

I can not confirm this but I do have a problem with Custom Screens. I loaded them all but i can not switch. Long press gives "edit right side bar"'. Where is the menu "thingy" for the Custom screen switch?
Hello Henk,
if you have loaded one CS on top of the screen on right side is a 3-dotbutton, klick "skin select" and than you can change to another CS
I have a general usability problem with twofinger taps (zoom out) and threefinger taps (show toolbars). These actions also seem to trigger track and point selection, which is a bad idea. My maps are usually full of custom tracks and waypoints and thus multifinger taps almost always select stuff that I do not want.
Is there any chance to NOT use multifinger taps for selection? Thanks.
Sorry for posting this here... but getsatisfaction is still considered abandonded?

Too complicated and confusing. Just behave like google maps (with osm) and you ll be good. User know that their phone "doesnt work" when theyre not online. Users do not know that they might have to "switch maps manually" to zoom in, even after they went online. Switching maps is not a concept that a new Locus user knows about. He has never done it before. He probably WILL know about being online & offline though.
It s quite a philosophical discussion anyway, since the user has just downloaded Locus when he starts it for the first time. So he WILL be online in 99% of all cases.
But hey... I couldnt care less about a fresh install start. I d much rather see an OpenGL version with triple speed :-)).

Thanks Ballony for confirmation. I checked with my previous version (2.15.1) and there is (another) select symbol. But 2.17.1 and 2.17.1.1 (test version) are not showing the three dot select symbol in the top bar right side!! So I can not switch to antoher Custom Screen.

When multiselecting tracks in a long (40 entries) tracklist, the list scrolls around aimlessly. I think it mostly ends up all the way at the bottom. That is a major usability problem, because I always have to scroll back up to where I was selecting tracks. The list must not move a single pixel when I select/deselect tracks.
If you can not reproduce this, I will try to figure out when exactly it happens. It seems to depend on how many other tracks are selected and where in the list they are.
Oh... and did I mention that multiselecting must be instantenous? Anything delays is a massive UI blunder. Hm... yes... I think I may have mentioned that a few times here and there. Once more can not hurt :-).
I can not see any of my Waypoints on any online map. They are all perfectly visible on vector maps and rmaps but disappear as soon as I choose any online map (eg google hybrid or bing or whatever). They appear again when changing back to a vector map or rmap. That seems to be a new bug in 2.17.1, I remember seeing all my points nicely on online maps.
Correction: The Waypoints disappear on online maps if zoomlevel is 14 or higher. With lower zooms, everything works as expected. If you cannot reproduce this, maybe its a memory problem with too many tracks selected? Although I dont have that many visible at the moment.
Correction: Waypoints disappear randomly also with other maps, not just with online maps.
Apparently, all POIs disappear whenever I change the map. When I change back to the previous map afterwards, the POIs appear again. Also, when I disable/enable the POIs in the POI list, they come back. But as soon as I change the map, they disappear again.

I think this is the same issue I reported previously - temporary hiding of waypoints when changing between different map formats, usually from OruxMaps to other format in my case, either direction. For some reason this doesnot occur when changing vector <=> GEMF.
So last testing version before release. I hope, that no more serious problems is there. If anyone wants to test, it's last chance.
@bucky kid, dashboard problem: as usually, I am unable to simulate this problem. Without known "certain circumstances", hard to do something
@henk: problem with button on custom screen: same as bucky, unfortunately on three devices, no problem. Allow your skin to hide this top bar? Isn't there any connection?

Hello Tramp
take a lock on the new 2.17.1.3-RC, for me it is possible to deselect "pack as kmz" and also in the 2.17.1
weird, should not!
also check this http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3488.msg24751#msg24751
Now i got it ;)
if you select in "Export Path" sdcard/locus/export, than you are able to check/uncheck "Pack as kmz"
you also check "share exported data", klick on "Export" and select Dropbox. The exported file is as you want. :)
if you select in "Export Path" "Dropbox" and start export, the kmz button is greyed and checkt, even you have it unchecked befor :o
It is a littlebit complicated, but try it ;)

I do not understand. SKIN? I switched to full screen but there is no change for this problem.
In general, also 2.17.1.3 still leaves me with several problems, compared to 2.15.1
It seems nowadays every new version is worse for me. And don't start about "older phones" :'(
When we can we test as much as we can and yes I had never time for 2.16.1 but what's the use for again and again a new feature every month if the basics get crumpled.
The pop under of menu's, the dashboard switching and the (missing) of guiding sound on/off in the Quick Switcher are all examples. Don't rob long time users of essentials, please.
The POIs no longer disappear in latest version. Much better :)

- fixed small problems with "navigation generator"
Thank you, now for the first time the navigation generator seems to work exactly according to Willy's (user 0815) and my specification. For the moment I can't find any more errors.
Well done!
Now we're waiting for improvements regarding TTS output in navigation (not anymore restrictions to 80, 50 m, etc.) ...
Switching maps is sill buggy with zoom levels:
I am on a rmap with max zoom level 9 but zoomed in to 9/800%. Now I change to another rmap with maximum zoom level 15. Instead of displaying the new map with 13/100%, Locus stays at 9/800%. It should obviously increase zoom level and decrease pixel zoom as far as possible with the new map.
@balloni: I was checking GPX in PQ files, and I see no clue if cache is "premium only" or not. Is there some tag, do you know? I think that not ... and what about the crown, is it clear and visible? I had no better idea then this :)
@Henk: I'm always trying to help, you know and I think that in this case, you blame me too much without good reason. Small problem with Locus is that I was not professional developer when I started to do Locus, so I had no clear idea how to do it. Result is, that even now, I sometimes suffer because part of old code is really bad. Because of this, I start to improve part of Locus that already worked and was well tested. Exchange of this, is better, faster code with possible bugs. But back to topic
1) new popup menus - I'm sure, that most of you like new popup menus as I do. They're bigger, more "Androidis", faster, better looking and mainly, it's possible to tap on correct button even during walk. Issue you have is partially in Android. I already hacked it and seems that your device is only one, that suffer with this. I'll look at it, if there is any place for fix
2) "Custom screen" switch - send me please your custom screen configuration
3) Quick switch - you probably miss it, but in settings is changed enabling/disabling of notifications. It's separated to more items, so old "Quick switch" buttons aren't anymore usable, because there is not just one switch in settings, but more. If you try new test version, you'll see that I spend on it some time and all switches are for you, ready to use also in "Quick switch"!
@joeloc: perfect, thank you (confirmation about missing waypoints)
@balloni: I'm glad it works. I think it's quite useful now, because there is almost nothing you loose from KMZ during import/export. Nice ...
@tommi: perfect. So TTS is next step ;)
@joeloc: hmm agree, I'll check it
Ok Menion, you convinced me again. Thanks for the explanation and sorry for being a "moody" old man that can not keep up with all the fast changes.
1. Pop under is no problem in landscape.
2. It's the same for all Custom Screens. I just use the standard ones (called skins when you select) and refreshed them by hitting "Install default". I can not find any specific settings for CS,
3. Yeah, totally missed that one. Just had to add the new notification sound button to my Quick Switch. (And when it stopped after one beep, I found the (new) repeat setting, so all solved, great.
@Henk & Menion: About " (missing) of guiding sound on/off in the Quick Switcher": It was completely gone in the latest release, I have searched like crazy for it. I found now that it's being renamed to "Waypoints", but the accompanying explanation makes no sense (in Dutch). Translated in English it says:"Here you can set how the track messages work". That's not correct, you can only enable or disable the guiding sound.
You can also tap on the text left from the on off button to get the beep settings menu.
More last minute bugs: Start a navigation for a region that you have downloaded altitude data. Show the information window for the generated track and view the altitude profile. The X-Axis unit texts are majorly messed up and overwritten with strings that seem do come from the navigation description, eg ("<b> left)...

Hello Menion !
Thanks for new version.
In version 2.17.1.3 IVONA is working ok, but
in version 2.17.2 IVONA is not working (polish voice) on Nexus 7 v2 (android 4.3).
On Motorola XT320, IVONA is working ok (version 2.17.2).
you're welcome
Since around 2.16.0, I do not change anything around inializing of TTS voices. So if in testing versions it works for you and in published not, then you have definitely something incorrectly set. Best is to try to set it again in TTS manager (menu > settings > localization)
It is ok, thank you.
IVONA is working ok.
The selection counter in the track list is broken. Right now, it says 18/58 for a folder, yet only two tracks are actually selected when I go into that folder. I dont know how it happened, but thats the current state. I am sure I had those 18 tracks selected before and Locus somehow lost their selection state.
Same happens for other folders (eg saying 15/35 but only one is actually checked). When I enable another track, the selection counter stays at 15/35. This is with last beta from this thread, not with market version.
Having not used Locus for a while (Due to work commitments and illness) I wanted to get rid of a TB I've had for too long. I had updated Locus last night to 2.17.2. When I arrived at the cache site and tried to log the find. On pressing the Field note button the screen hung for 10-15 seconds then I got a window stating "Unfortunately, Locus Pro has stopped", and on pressing OK the app started again.
As I am one of the many Samsung Galaxy S3 users who had installed the 4.3 update before Samsung pulled it due to the numerous errors. I installed Locus Pro 2.17.2 onto my Nexus 7 when I got home, but I am still getting the same error on it.
Hi Menion!
(edit)
OK, so I didn't notice the crowns. They are shown on the map only. I hope the list view gets it, too.
I cannot get the red star for customcoords, not in list nor on map :(
There is an exception, though, a cache with a strange name shows the icon with a red star:
{name}GC40NZN{/name}{desc}"!*!8n3n 53#"58%83"58 UcbR40NZN=?:F=0{/desc}
{sym}Geocache{/sym}{type}Geocache|Unknown Cache{/type}
{groundspeak:cache id="GC40NZN" available="True" archived="False" memberonly="False" customcoords="True" xmlns:groundspeak="http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/2"}
{groundspeak:name}"!*!8n3n 53#"58% UdbR40NZN{/groundspeak:name}
Favorite points are shown incorrectly? If I include {groundspeak:favorite_points}46{/groundspeak:favorite_points}
There is a small blue icon in the list, but the number is always zero (0). When you fix this, it should also be shown in the basic info of the listing.
(/edit)
I tried to get the new cache features to work. No success!?
Have you implemented memberonly="True" and customcoords="True" features in 2.17.2 (pro)?
Only in one cache did I get the customcoords indication, I don't know what is different in it?
Also, the cachetype does not work:
{groundspeak:cachetype id="8"}Unknown (Mystery) Caches{/groundspeak:cachetype}
Container seems to work:

@joeloc: sorry, but as usually, I'm unable to reproduce this problem. A way to simulate this problem is welcome
@CaptKaos2: damn ... I see it. Seems this happen to users, that never logged a cache before with current version of Locus. So not to current users, but only to new one (or users that do not used this feature for a long time). Seems to be another quite serious problem where only help is to restore settings (in attachment - that unfortunately overwrite all your settings you have in app). Sorry for this, I'll have to release one more version soon, uff ...
@stebu: it will be longer ...
1) crowns in list of caches - agree. Unfortunately I have little bit "complicated" system for creating cache icons and it's simplified version is just in list of caches. So for now, it's not simply possible.
2) red star - is visible in case, you modify original coordinates of cache or you import a cache together with final waypoint, or you check in cache screen "Computed" checkbox
3) favorite points - I'm not sure if groundspeak:favorite_points is even officially supported by google anyway I found an issue during import that always set amount to '0', so fixed now
4) "Have you implemented memberonly="True" and customcoords="True" features in 2.17.2 (pro)?" - "memberonly" yes, new imported caches that has set this to true, should be on map visible with small crown. "customcoords" no, I do not know this parameter
5) cache type "Unknown (Mystery) Caches" - I do not know this definition. Where this comes from? Also in your XML sample you write about GPX Groundspeak extension version 1.0.2, but this do not officially exists as I know
Hi Menion!
GS GPX schema 1/0/2 was introduced in Balloni's post, which you acknowledged :)
http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3488.msg25219#msg25219
hmm, I miss that it's already 1.0.2. So even "memberonly" is from this new schema? Is it already official or it's just some "beta"?
Thanks menion.
I overwrote the files in my Locus folder with those in the zip file, rebooted my phone and tried again. The problem is still there.
It's not a big problem for me at the moment, as I don't think I will be out on the moors for at least another week or two. I'll wait for the next version.
ah sorry, I forget to mention how to work with that "backup file"
So, to fix problem with logging a caches
1) download file from attachment and put it to Locus/backup directory
2) start Locus and then start menu > more > Backup manager
3) choose Restore and pick this file
4) check Settings and after that, just restart Locus (it should be done automatically)
Cheers Menion ,that worked a treat. As always great support.

When I added a POI by searching with Google Places the name field was filled with HTML markup (i.e., & <b> ... </b>, etc.).
On a related subject:
The Google Places search respects the current area I am viewing and offers me results in its vicinity (try searching for "Hilton" while viewing San Francisco). When I use the standard search ("address and place") with the same term "Hilton" the results I am being offered are spread all over the USA. Could you please make the OSM search behave more like the google search concerning local proximity? The same holds true for the Geonames search.
Thank you!
(tested with current release)

I'm trying to find out the status of 1/0/2.
So far, it looks bad. PQ's do not use it. You cannot set higher than 1/0/1 in your geocaching profile.
But "customcoords" would be a nicer solution to mark own coordinates than a final waypoint, IMHO.
QuoteSeems this happen to users, that never logged a cache before with current version of Locus. So not to current users, but only to new one (or users that do not used this feature for a long time).
I can't confirm this. I use this functionality quite often.
oki, thanks for info. I this case, I'll prepare fixed version sooner then in the end of week
@PeterPablo: html codes removed, truth is they have no sense. Anyway even if your "search suggestion" sounds good, I'm unable to do this, because Google API do not allow such request.
@stebu, balloni: so from where comes this new beta specification for Geocaching extension for GPX 1.0.2?

I do not know about 1/0/2 (Balloni?)
But I remember that a GS lackey gave a link to 1/0/1 on a conversation forum. But even that was not official.
BTW I can't generate the red star? I have included a final waypoint to my GPX exactly the same as a test cache that I exported from Locus?
Quote from: menion on November 18, 2013, 12:05:09
@PeterPablo: ... I'm unable to do this, because Google API do not allow such request.
It is the other way round. Google already behaves good, meaning that it does respect the currently displayed area.
The standard search by Locus (probably based on nominatim) though does NOT respect the currently displayed area and offers results from almost "everywhere". Are you able to improve that search?
This should probably be discussed in a separate topic since it is no regression from the current version.

PMO tradi i have

@PeterPablo: hmm separate topic is usually better, but leave it for now. You're correct. Nominatim (used by MapQuest) has optional parameter to specify prefered area for search. So added
@Balloni, Stebu: oki, so I'll leave it for now, till 1.0.2 will be official. Btw. how is it possible that you see smiley as icon and also star for "computed"? Because smiley should be only one what you should see.

Great! This will certainly improve the quality of search results. Acutally this behaviour annoyed me from the begining and only recently I noticed that the Google Search returns more meaningful results. I only brought this up because of the HTML markup "annoyance". So -- thank you very much!

ah I see it now. Hmm as I wrote in any post before, system for drawing a geocache icons is little bit weird and complicated now. It needs to be rewrote, but because it's little bit risky, I'll leave it to next bigger version, when will be enough time to test all possibilities.
Car Parking nodes no longer appear with internal themes
In http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3423.msg24409#msg24409 I commented that the standard Osmarender includes rules that say there must be either no access key, or access must be yes or public for the parking icon to show and Voldapet changed the internal themes accordingly.
However parking nodes no longer appear in the Locus internal themes (though areas/ways do). It appears that the test for no "access" key in the following code does not work for nodes, though the equivalent code does work for ways.
<rule e="node" k="amenity" v="parking">
<rule e="node" k="access" v="~">
<symbol src="file:/symbols/parking.png" />
</rule>
<rule e="node" k="access" v="yes|public">
<symbol src="file:/symbols/parking.png" />
</rule>
</rule>
I don't know if this is a bug in the Locus code or implicit in the data but in fact the dummy code from OpenStreetMap at https://trac.openstreetmap.org/changeset/6939/subversion does not test for access permissions in parking nodes.
Hello Menion.
In Android 4.4 (KitKat) on Nexus 7 2013 (version 2.17.3), menu settings (Display to Miscellaneous) is not working. White screen.
In version 2.17.1.3 menu settings is working ok, on Android 4.4.
@percy: I'll forward this issue to peter
@jurek: I know, sorry. Interesting issue, caused by one change in Android system. "Funny" on this is fact, that I was fixing it right before release, tested it, but it's still in public version. Probably some part of precompiled code remained in memory during creating a version. We now discuss, if release another version (2.17.x is really cursed) immediately or wait at least a week ...
Hello menion
the behavior discribed in replay#113 and #116 always exist.
kml export to dropbox is only possible when you select "sdcard" and "send data", so you export it twice :-[
Direct export to dropbox is always kmz
balloni, I already few times wrote that this is not a bug, but an intent. For example here http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3488.msg24751#msg24751 . I'm sure this is not a big problem
Sorry menion, i didnt noticed :-[, you are right it is not a big problem
@menion -- on #168 (blank settings pages), I noticed that while displaying the satellites, from that menu if you open GPS and Location settings, they show fine! But doing it from the main "gear" Settings icon, all settings pages are blank. It is strange.
I am playing with WMS for the first time and it seems kind of unusable at the moment. Using any of the maps from
http://www.igac.gov.co/wps/portal/igac/raiz/iniciohome/MapasdeColombia/Descargas
eg
http://geocarto.igac.gov.co/geoservicios/cien_mil/wms
makes Locus crawl like a snail and almost always busyloop one core (galaxy note 2). Is this to be expected with WMS? I thought it was basically just tile downloading, so the performance should be more or less equal to other online maps, but maybe I am mistaken.
I also just had Locus crash after playing with those maps for a few minutes.
@bob: weird, but it make sense for me. Version will be out during a weekend, sorry for troubles
@joeloc: no no, wms maps are in 90% much slower then normal online maps. Tiles are not stored on WMS servers, but are generated on-the-fly based on Locus requests. They are also not cached, so every tile is requested again when needed
Quote from: menion on November 26, 2013, 09:56:04

Ok, but that doesnt explain Locus eating all CPU and busylooping a core and scroll with 1 fps while WMS overlays are active. I think I even had it busyloop when I was inside the map manager on the WMS tab.
ah got it, nice. Problem is simple. Every WMS server return XML file with it's information, paremeters etc. Locus keep this definition and read it every time, you need to work with WMS layer. Usually, these XML files are around 10 - 30kb big, so parsing took less then second. Unfortunately I discovered that XML file from server you mention, has more then 200kb! and even on Nexus7, it took almost 5 seconds to parse it.
It's not too important problem now, but I'm placing it to my TODO list to any of next versions, because it definitely needs to be fixed. Thanks

Thank you for adding the USGS maps!
Could you post or send me the xml code for these, so I can experiment with the various other layers available from nationalmap.gov?
Thanks again for my favorite app!
The latest test version just expired :(.
And unfortunately, changing between pro & test/free is not really an option if you have a complex system setup. All external tools that connect to Locus / fire up Locus / start Locus with some gpx (or other) files / Tasker rules / whatever would need to be re-configured on every switch... unless somebody found a solution for this?
Is there any reason the beta versions replace the FREE version btw? Wouldnt it be more logical if they replaced PRO? They have the PRO feature set after all. Then we could simply continue using PRO from market if the latest beta expired without re-configuring all our external programs. Using FREE from market isnt an option due to missing features.
Hello menion,
please take a look on screenshot in german thread
http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3563.msg25526#msg25526
in "Navigation BETA" the values of the red framed functions are wrong :-[
"time to target" seams to be the same value as "time to next junktion"
"time of arrival" seams to be the same value as "time"
Additional question, how does it work:
did calculated time values inside locus depend on what profil the track was created? hike/bike/car
@balloni: thanks for screenshot with incorrect text in navigation dialog - fixed
@eric: I do not store definitions of maps in some xml files, they are intertaly coded inside Locus. Also keep in mind that since level 16, these maps use different mechanism that is not possible to use by "Locus custom online map (providers.xml)" system. If you want to play with these maps, I suggest to read this post, where is described how to add custom maps http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manual:custom_online_maps
@joeloc: I'm sure we discuss this more then once ...
anyway, my idea is to: keep Locus Pro from Google Play so you always have working version. Testing versions overwrite Locus Free, because almost all active users has Locus Pro so they have working and testing versions.
and last one: moving from Free to Pro or opposite is quite easy. Just do backup of settings in Backup manager. That's all. So I don't see reason why use Locus Free (testing), just in case you want to test some new feature
@balloni: thanks again, I'll check it. Times depend just on your average speed from last few previous seconds and time values that are received from MapQuest, CLoudmade etc. Hmm I probably see a problem. If I generate track manually, there are no times, so there will be probably need to define some expected average speed of your vehicle to compute these times ... EDIT: so yes, as I wrote. I improved this a little, so times to end will also be computed from average speed, but I don't think it's best and final solution, because these times will change a lot during a ride. We'll see ;)
Hello,
this weekend I played with Navigation Beta and brouter in car mode (and checking what instructions are given during driving a known route).
1.
Automatic recalculation is done with brouter, but Navigation Beta is then not set anymore, it switches to track guiding automatically after recalculatin. Workarround is to stop guiding and to start Navigation Beta again for the new track. Could this be optimized?
2.
Roundabouts seem to be a bit hard to handle (right, left, right with setting high amount of drivinginstructions). Is there a chance to recognize roundabouts and to inform about where I have to leave the roundabout (or could/should it be job of brouter to give this information to Locus)?
Idea for roundabout recognition in Locus:
As I saw in the generated and exported track, there are only coordinates of points and
a) no way to see directly whether this is a roundabout or not. Maybe with calculating and recognizing the curve which has a nearly rectangular change at beginning and end. (mind lefthandtraffic where the curve is the other way round).
b) no way to see how many or where the other exits are (to say "take third exit" ). But maybe it's a good idea (after roundabout recognition) to compute the angle between in and out of roundabout and say "leave at 3 o clock" (for leaving after a quarter circle) or "leave at 12 o clock" (for leaving after a half circle)...?

Proper testing cannot be done by running an app just for a minute to "try a new feature". Sorry... but thats nonsense. People should use testing versions extensively and constantly and "in real world situations", everything else is mostly pointless.
And the problem is not moving settings around between free & pro, thats just a minor inconvenience. The problem is THE REST OF THE SYSTEM that is connected to Locus. Every single tasker rule, every file manager that opens gpx/kml, every web browser, everything that sends intents or something... and godknowswhat. This all develops into a HORRIBLE MESS when you have two Locuses in parallel and are forced to switch constantly.
Two Locuses in parallel are a major PITA unless you run a very simplistic setup and do not interface much with other software. But I guess you will never understand this... because you do not actually USE Locus, you only DEVELOP it :-).
Thanks menion for your quick reply!
In regards to the USGS maps from nationalmap.gov, you state:
since level 16, these maps use different mechanism that is not possible to use by "Locus custom online map (providers.xml)"
Since I can't do it via providers.xml, could you add a map for the "USGS Protected Area Owner (PADUS)" layer? This shows public land areas, and would be very useful to many people in the western USA.
@Eric,
I've quickly check the "PADUS" layer and it seems that data are available till zoom-level=13. Am I right or are there any data for more detailed zoom-levels? Zoom-layers 0-15 can be add into Locus via provider.xml as menion already mentioned.
OK, I'll attempt to add PADUS from nationalmap.gov in providers.xml
Thanks for your help!

Wow :o
I tend to agree with Menion on this. I don't want to mess up my working version of Locus Pro to find myself in the middle of Dartmoor with a test version that doesn't quite work (which has happened). In that case I switched back to Pro and was on my way again.
These are TEST versions and should be treated as such.
so after some time, "testing version" as usually (so test as Free version, but works as Pro)
there are two interesting web sites where you may export recorded tracks and also improved handling with lines and areas on map. Btw. one tip - on long-click on green point (during "Add new route & measure") you may simply delete this point ;)
Ok, well done.
I did a quick test and ....it works!!!
I need to login for a second time to reach the "Accept Locus App" screen, but after that...perfect. Just as I expected.
Good work. Thanks a lot.
BTW: Where to place extra donations? ;D
I have really slow upload speed, so it took around 10 minutes till version was ready. Also in case, someone downloaded versions immediately I published it and version will not work (just a black screen right during start), please download from same link new version again - it's fixed

Ah, this is a real improvement! Very nice that I can remove single points from a drawn track, not only the last point but now also in the middle and at the beginning.
But it does no recalculation of navigation in case this feature is activated which is my main usecase for "Add new route & measure".
Could you add this?
ah you are correct. Probably yes :) for now you have to move with one of points, but this make of course sense. My mistake ...
- so track will be re-computed also when you delete one point in the middle (locus compute route between previous and new point). Also did you tried tap and drag with small red points? Also useful ;)

version is uploading. Will be ready to download in first post ...
Aahhh, this morning I was swimming and menion uploaded the new version with data grouping. Many thanks for this!
Now I tried it and created a new group "Italy". Then assigned some POI directories to this group like camping sites, hotels and so on. It works very well.
Maybe it could be easier to assign POI directories to groups directly from the three points menu at directory p.ex. but it's only the first time you assign a lot of data to groups.
Best of all, new feature don't take effect to Locus pro version without this feature.
Good work!!

ah I forget to suggest to do backup of databases before, because this update change database system a little ... never mind, seems it works fine.
Yes, I agree it may take a while to set up this, but as you wrote - it's just for the first time.
If you have some groups created, then every new folder you create should be immediately attached to any group, so it won't be a problem ... enjoy ;)
Data backup should be as a matter of course if working with test version.
Importing geocaches with API you see the categories and groups with categories in it, very well. But if you are moving POIs from one category to another in group, in select list you see only all categories without group info. In some cases with the same name of categories it could be important in which group they are.
Ahhh I see, same names aren't possible! Then the comment above is only for a straight GUI.
Regards,
KaHeMu
ah anyway good point. In case you tap on point > edit, then in list of categories, all groups/folders are visible correctly, because groups are visible as a blue labels. I'll do same here (when you move/copy points)
EDIT: 30 minutes later: done, on all possible places where you move/copy/choose from points or tracks folders, will be also visible these groups
I guess whole functionality will be in next Version? ;-)
In data manager we can see a symbol for directory, which is the same for opened or closed group. Would it be possible you can integrate two different symbols like in some file managers?
Just i tested new recalculation for tracks with Brouter p.ex. In combination with easy deleting of points of the track it's a very good tool to test different routes.

In my opinion missing here is add points in the middle of the track, not necessary to say that route recalculation is mandatory here as well.
Then I think we are not so far away from united track creation and editing. :)
yes, I was also thinking about this, but editing is quite a slow (moving with points, lots of recalculation, etc.) so enabling editing for whole long track (few thousands of points) is currently really not possible.

IMHO only the point before and the point after need to be affected assuming points are stored in a linked list.

I read it, but it´s not really clear how can I use it.
Is it an own standalone application? For hiking or biking users it is perhaps not soooo usefull.
But why not. :) Maybe in the future...
yes, it's a completely independent app. It just share part of code with locus around map handling and some GUI stuff. Purpose is for people that wants to use their device for some surveying, data collecting, some "profesional" tasks, not hike & bike and similar.
Purpose is simple - more and more people use Locus for some work tasks, not just free time, and write us - add this, add that etc. And because I want to keep Locus itself focused on free time activities and because I like all these stuff around surveying etc., result is this app. It won't be probably nothing for you, it's just my small excuse, that I do not invest my full time to Locus itself last weeks.

Hehe, nothing :). First public test version will be probably in ... hmm April 2014, maybe later. And even then, I will need people that work in GIS. There are two reasons why I mentioned it. 1. because I do not know what everybody of you do in your life, so it should be interesting for you. 2. As I wrote in my previous post - "it's just my small excuse, that I do not invest my full time to Locus itself last weeks"
Hi,
I played around a little bit with the new functionality in "route & measure" in the testing version 2.17.4.3. This works great! With the automatic recalculations we have a very handy tool for route creation now!
Deleting a point in the middle of the route is great, but even better is the ability to add an additional point between two existing points with the little red dots! Thank you very much for this feature! I hope we get the functionality in the "normal" version soon.
I also tried the new grouping function for POIs. Also very handy! Thanks!
glad you like it. Public version will be after christmas. Current version seems to be very stable and without serious problems and I do not want to publish a version with possible problems now
Quick view settings: Bug or normal behaviour that I don't have all settings in the recent testing version?

ah nice discover - thanks. It's probably older problem that come in version, when was removed "Modules". Settings you miss in testing version were available only in case, you had enabled "Advanced module".
Anyway problem is fixed now, thank you!
hope you all have calm and relaxing days. I've prepared one version, probably RC (release candidate) so if anyone is interested, may try. During next week, I want to publish new version, so write me if you'll have any problems or wishes
Menion, the out of track message isn't repeated anymore. If you leave the navigation track the out of track notification it comes only once but not repeated every 30secs as in older versions.
Nice greetings to your Mom.
Hello Tommi,
please check "Out of track notification" settings. There is a new field "Repeat every X seconds". Do you have enabled this settings?
Ah, new setting. Thanks!
Well, new in 2.17.4 playstore version. I found that out during a hike two days ago. :( But works great and on/off not. sound through quick switch also.
But not really having time to test RC version, maybe later.
I'm not sure I fully understand - this new settings that allow enable/disable repeating of "out of track" notification works fine anyway On/Off over Quick switch do not work?
All works great. "not. sound" means "notification sound". I can toggle it on/off with the Quick Switch .
ah perfect :)
Tested car navigation yesterday with control on/off screen which works nicely.
But I had a different problem: I accepted an incoming call and afterwards there was no TTS voice anymore. I found out that the volume for TTS was set to 0 (the option to mute the sounds wasn't at).
thanks for report Tommi. This is quite complicated to test :), but I'll try to do something with this ...
