Title: New forum design
Post by: jusc on August 27, 2013, 11:55:54
Hi all,

If yes, I´missing the attachments like screenshots and zip files.

Hi,
yes, older phpBB made me crazy when there were need for some changes and improvements. So we moved whole forum to this new system. Seems that almost all works fine except some internal links and as you wrote .. attachments. They're copied to new folder correctly, but are not attached. Hmm in which post you miss it?

The question is, how can you even add new files or attachments. I only find the possibility to add links from other web sites.

wait a while (hour or two). There seems to be some problem during a conversion from old forum. I'm working on it and I'm sure all attachments will be correctly added. Just a while please ...

But the UPLOADBUTTON is missing !!

By the way, a nice feature, while i write a new post anotherone wrote an answer, a message in red letters apears :)

you mean missing upload buttons? :)

just add files and press post. After you press post, all attachments will be uploaded
Title: Re: New forum design?

1. Can we change the date/time format from "04:02:20 PM" to the correct European time zone (16:02:20)?
2.If I press previous or next (« previous next » right below on the page) then I expect as usual in other forums the next/previous page in the same topic and not the forum topic. Is this correct?
Title: Re: New forum design?
Post by: Menion on August 27, 2013, 18:51:27
Peter changed the time, so it seems to looks normal now. Good to know correct time without need to recompute it :)

About buttons, I agree, but it's how this system is done. Anyway everything may change. Give it a while and we'll see if these buttons are useless or not.

Are you missing here anything btw? From my point of view, it looks much better then before. Tapatalk should now also works correctly, attachements, all posts etc. are correctly transformed from previous forum.

Keep in mind that this is based on SMF system, so if there will be need for any feature, I may always look into this repository http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/ to check if such plugin exists or not. Installation here is quite simple compare to previous forum, so it's not a problem to improve it a little ...

I would like to have a bit more contrast  :) , for me the older version was easier to read. p.e the links in the normal text. Maybe there are some layouts for choose?
Title: Re: New forum design
Post by: stebu on August 27, 2013, 22:16:08
I used to watch the forum/topics by using the "recent posts" list. The new forum does not really allow this (or I cannot use it correctly).
The current "recent" gives you a too detailed and hence a too short list of recent posts. It also includes several posts to the same topic.
Is there a way to condense the current forum's "recent" posts?

Another problem I'm having is that the forum always opens with the "search" function even if I open it with the URL "http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?action=recent". Is there a setting to fix this?

:o

sorry for replay these question, since now i have no other solution as to paste in the backslash manualy :-[
Also i want to place the attached picture inline and not at the end of the post, if there are more pictures attached the overview depending on the text will be much better

It's possible but very complicated
- place image as attachment in new post and copy URL of attchment
- edit post again and place inline image based on copied URL

Hi gynta,
thanks for your answer,
the normal quote is now ok, but as you can see in my postet screenshot yesterday the backslash was missing, i do not understand ???
But if you do a fullquote with "insert quote" on the right side of an post, the quote doesn t end and the written text seems also be a quote. See your answer and also this post

(http://s22.postimg.org/zg1psx68t/List.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/zg1psx68t/)

working with the "Unordered List Button" and "Ordered List Button" is very laborious :-[
one klick on one of these buttons create always two lines and you have to klick between the rectangular clips bevor start writing.
To write in the next line you have to the same procedure.
If you want to have a more lines you have to work with copy&paste.....
It woud be nice these buttons work like "MS Word" , one "carriage return/Enter" create a new line, two "carriage return/Enter" the listing ends.

Hi,
Fonts
I've changed default fonts so it similar as on old forum. How does it look in your browser? Is it readable?

Attachment in PM
There is nice plugin which offers attachment in PM. Unfortunately collides with already installed plugin/themes and it influences lots of code. I don't know if I'm able to fix the problems parts manually... :-\

Add image to post
I'm little bit lost... Is it solved or not? Was issue caused by FF plugins?
EDIT: OK...not caused by NoScript

Wrong link
Which one, please? I'll check it
